poems on New Year's thoughts

Luke chapter 12, beginning at
verse 13. The theme of the ad-
dress stressed "that we all work
together and keep going forward
towards that which is right."

-Mr. Akkerimis leierned his trade
in Holland in the printing school
at Rotterdam and then he'
graduated in- 1938, later becom-
ing manager of a, publishing firm
in Leiden. He "studied Journalism
and printing economy for .two
Years, and received private les-
sons in graphic art from. Prof,
Henry Friedlander- of the Univer-,
sity of Berlin.
While engaged in underground
Army work during —the Second
World War he was captured by
the Nazis and held prisoner
until liberated by the American
army.
He' is an elder in the First
Reformed Church at Harriston
and is secretary of the Consis-
torial Union of the Reformed
Churcbes in Ontario.

January 2, The president, Mrs.
Frank Andrews- was in charge
with Mrs. Shepherd at the piano.
The meeting opened by singing
the theme song,and repeating the
Lord's Prayer in unison. A poem
"God of Our, Life" was ,read by
the president. The devotional
reading was read by Mrs. Milton
Steepe and she led in prayer. The.
minutes . were read and approved
