Donald Cornish, a graduate .of
Clinton District Collegiate Insti-
trite, has been recommended by
the session of Wesley-Willis Uni-
tad' Church as a candidate for the
ministry and was introduced to
the congregation' as such by the
clerk of session Nelson W. Tre-
wartha.
Mr. Cornish assisted the Rev,
J. A. McKim in the morning
church service. He is presently
a student at Western University,

Forty Members
At Last Meeting
The Clinton Women's Institute
met for their December meeting
in the Agricultural office• Board
Room with 40 members present.
Mrs. Ruscsell Holmes presided in
the absence• of Mrs. Mervyn Bat-
kin, Communications were read
by the secretary and the roll call
was answered by the exchange of
Christmas gifts among the mem-
bers. Sunshine Sister's were re-
membered with a seasonal gift.
Miss Violet Fremlin asked for
knitters of sweaters for welfare
work. Quite a number of our
members offered their help,
Mrs. E. Radford and Miss Gras-
by played two numbers.
The speaker of the day was
-John Agulian of the Clinton Bap-
tist Church, who spoke on "Christ-
mas and what it means to us;"
and "How can we have peace in
our hearts without Christ in our
midst?" The hostesses of the
month served a delightful Christ-
mas lunch: 0_

Ontario, Street United Church will
hold its first meeting of the ndw
year on Thursday, January 7, at
2.30 p.m. Devotions will be taken
by Rev. G. 'Mills, with the pro-

ley. A picnic lunch will be ser-
ved.

home with his parents, Mr. and

also was with the Taylors, on
Christmas Day.

nest Epps on Christmas Day were

Mrs. George Connell has re-
turned to her borne in Seaforth,
after a four months trip to' the
West Coast where she visited her
Son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and.
Mrs, Gordan Marks and her
grandchildren at 100 Mile House,
British Calturibia, and many other
friends. She also visited many
other friends in a number of clif-
ferent places between Seaforth
and Vancouver, She spent several.
days with Mrs. Will Herbison and
daughter Georgia in, Winnipeg,
Alta, Mrs, Herbison is in her 98th
year, and is in fair health, She
was the former Irate Connell, Go-
derich Township.

Ed. Gibson With
Sister For
Christmas Day
Edward E. Gibson left Clinton
on the 8.15, bus on Saturday mor-
ning, December 21, to visit his
two sisters in Toronto. One el
them is 83 and the other is 8(1
years old, while Ed's age is some-
where in between.
They celebrated Christmas to-
gether. Ed. also visited a cousin,
George Gibson in Oakville', with
whom he went 'to school, and a
Dr. Sam Boyd, now retired in
Toronto, with whom Ed .went to
Sunday School in, the 1880s.
As Ed says,„ This flock of oc-
togenarians are all ,able to walk
about, and they had a good time
with their memories of many
years ago." Ed'returned to Clin-
ton on Boxing Day, December 26.
