Market Hunting A special thorn in the foot of progress seems to be the mass slaughter of Jack Rabbits by. road hunters. This type of hunter specializes in driving 'the back roads; mainly. after snow storms, where he finds Jack Rabbits sit- ting along the roadsides, fences, etc. The rabbits are then sold, from. 50 to 70 cents, • One hunter in a good afternoon will kill from 10 to 15 ' rabbits. Jack Rabbits are the most popu- lar of the few game animals •left to hunt in the • winter season. The. market hunter goes out and, shoots as many rabbits as he can and when next season rolls around he will wail loudest and. longest.
