MCI Students' Council' staged
a successful Christmas dance last
Friday evening as their final soc-
ial venture of the year.
This week, as well as being the
last one of the school term, mar-
ked the much prepared for corn-
niencement, The several differ-
ent performances, each prepared
by separate groups, combined for
the first time in their "dress re-
hearsal" Tuesday afternoon. This
gave performers the opportunity
to practise before a full auditor-
ium pr students.
The performance not only pro
vided entertainment for the stud-
ent body, but also "smoothed the
way" for the more difficult task
on Wednesday and Thursday

Supper Served',

A Christmas Supper was Served
by the Good Will Club of Wesley-
Willis United Church, to members
and friends in the church hail, at
their December meeting.. A sing-
song of Christmas carols Wowed.,
with Miss Mavis Steepe, pianist.

business and, program welcoming
all present, The minutes were ap-
proved as read and the treasurer's
report was adopted. Mrs. Man-
ning and Mrs. Dennison are to '-a-

with two seasonable solos, "The
Infant Jesus' and "'White Christ-
mas," Mrs„ Manning introduced.
Mrs. LeRoy Poth, BaYfield, who

travelogue on the second part of
her recent. European ,tour, cover-
ing the Trossacks, English Lake
district, Wales and Central Eng-
land. She was thanked by Miss L.
Walleinshaw.
The Mizpah benediction closed a
successful meeting which was plan-
ned by Mrs, M. .Steepe and Mrs.
W, Pinning.

Christmas Carols
At Snider I-Iome
The Women's Missionary Soc-
iety of St, Andrew's Presbyterian
Church, met at the home of Mrs,
John Snider. on Tuesday. After
singing Christmas carols, Mrs, R,
W. 1VICKenzie, president, conducted
a candlelightitig service using the
theme "The Light of the World."
Participants were Mrs, Ed. Far-
quhar, Mrs, J. R. Makins, Mm.
William Shaddock, Mrs. George
Roberton and Mrs. D, J, Lane.
Mrs. McTaggart led in prayer.
Mrs.. Snider played Christmas
Carols. Mrs, George Roberton
presented Mrs, M, P. McTaggart
with a Life Membership. This was
a gift from a former member of
the church. Mrs. Makins, treasur-
er stated that the allocation had
been exceeded. Miss C. Haig and
Miss Kay Snider sang a very
pleasing duet, 'Dear Little Stran-
ger."
The hostess served Christmas re-
freshments assisted by her daugh-
ter and Mrs. Ron McCann,
her home on December 14, in bon-or of her daughter Elaine, whose
marriage to Irvin joslin, Ford, Ex, eter, will take place December
in St, Andrew's United Church,
Kippen.
Mrs. Bell and Elaine assisted by
the ' groom's mother Mrs. Arthur
Ford, Exeter, received 100 guests,
and IVIiss Shirley Hein) 'Exeter,
i niece of the groom, was n charge of the guest book,
White and red carnations form-
ed attractive floral decorations;
lace tablecloth covered the tea tale-
le which centred a three tier wed-
ding cake, flanked with red carna-
tions and red tapers.
Mrs, John Richardson, Hensall,
and Mrs. Arthur Rundle, Exeter,
poured tea in 'the afternoon, and
Miss Anne Sinclair, Goderich, and
Miss Dorothy Marino, London, ser-
ved. Pouring tea in the evening
were Mrs. C. Struthers and Mrs.
Frank Skinner, Exeter, Miss Lois

With Bazaar
At the December meeting of the
Catholic Women's League, St. Jo-
seph's subdivision, Clinton, with
Mrs. Frank VanAltena presiding,
it was announced that at the ba-
zaar held recently the net proceeds
totalled $250, Members voted to
present the pastor and spiritual
advisor, Rev. J. W, Graham, with
a substantial cheque.
Plans were outlined to remem-
ber the sick and shut-ins of the
parish at Christmas, as well as
candy to the children. Oranges
will be sent to the residents of
the Huron County Home, Clinton;
and a eornplete layette, made by
members, will be sent to Mercy
Shelter, Chatham.
A bale of used clothing has been
packed and -will be forwarded to
Poland. A donation of $5 will be
forwarded to the School of Christ
radio program, and $5 to the vet-
erans' fund at Westminster Hospi-
tal, London.
Mrs. Theo Flynn and Mrs. Jo-
seph Blake were named a commit-
tee to collect funds for needy fam-
ilies in the parish at Christmas
time. The winter season euchre
parties will commence this month,
with Mrs. 'Lloyd Medd as over-all
convener.
