The Auburn Anisettes met Nov-
ember 29, at the home of Mrs. •
Davies. The minutes were read by
the secretary, Audrey lVfachan,
Ten' members ,attended and three
were absent, Lunch was served by
Mary Meehan and June Baechler,'
Mrs. Nesbit fitted several of the
skirts and Mrs. Davies demonstra-
ted stay stitching, . •
The 'next meeting is to-be held
on December 6, at the borne of -
Mrs, Nesbit and the social time is
to be in charge of Betty Young,-
blut and Marilyn Doer.
Roll call will be, "One reason I
chose my skirt material, its name
and weave."
The dining room was decorated with pink streamers. • and white ' The tablet covered with 4 embroidered madeira cloth, was .centred with a three-tier wedding cake in white and silver and vases of pink carnations,

Mr, and, Mrs. Herbert Mogridge
celebrated their 60th wedding An-
niversary here on. Saturday, when
they were at home to relatives and
friends. Mr, Mogridge is a former
member' of Hullett township coun-cil and held office as reeve for
three years,
The wedding'60 years ago was
solemnized at the home of the
bride's parentS on the tenth con-
cession of Hallett by Rev. W. J.
Andrews, Lonclesboro. The atten-
dants were Miss Maud Moorehead,Stratford, a cousin of the bride,
and Edgar Mogridge, brother of
the bridegroom. Following their
marriage they lived on the bride-, gm:yin's farm on the 11th conies=
• for three years, Moving to the
baseline where they lived for 44
years. They retired to Auburn 13
years ago. "
Mrs. Mogridge is the former
Alive Manning, a daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Man-
ning of the 10th concession of Hul-
lett. She attended SS 5 Hullett.
Mr. Mogridge is the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas• Mogridge of
the 11th concession of Hullett.
Mrs. Mogridge has one sister, Mrs.
William Marsh, Goderich, and one
brother, Thomas Manning, Londes-
bore,
Mr. and Mrs. Mogridge have two
daughters, Mrs. Bert Marsh, Kit-
chener, and Mrs. Gormley Themp-
son, Brampton; four grandchildren
and two great grand-children;
They are members of Knox United
Church, where Mr. Mogridge is an
elder and Mrs, Mogridge is a mem-
ber of the Woman's Association.
She is a former president of the
Women's Institute and was presi-
dent of the local Red Cross Soc-
iety in both' the First and Second
World Wars, Mr. Mogridge was
a member of Hullett township
council for years and reeve for
three years, He was also a trus-
tee of SS 9 for a number of years.
Guests Welcome
The guests were received by
Mrs. William Marsh, Goderich,
Mrs. T. Manning was in, charge of
the register. Tea was poured in
the afternoon by Miss Margaret R.
Jackson and Miss Sadie Carte
and in the evening by Mrs. C. M.
Straughan a d Mrs, William
Straughan. Serving were grand-
daughters, Mrs. Howard Wallace
and Mrs: Robert Thompason of
Brampton, Miss Helen Marsh of
New York and Miss Betty Marsh,
Kitchener.
The bride of 60 years wore navy
and white crepe , with corsage of
pink carnations,

Greidanus-Zylstra
The Christian Reformed.Church,
Princess Street, Clinton, was the
scene of a pretty wedding last
Tuesday, November 26, when Ther-
esa Zylstra, Clinton, daughter of
Mr, and Mrs. John Zylstra, Ber-
g= (Fr.) Holland, became the
bride of.Tjerk Greidanus, Landes-
bora, son of Mr. and Mrs. John
Greidanus.
The Rev. G. J. Hoytema offic-
iated. The couple were unatten-
ded,
The bride was lovely in a gown
of floor-length nylon net over sat-
in, with a jacket of Chantilly lace,
a Peter Pan collar embroidered in
sequins, and a very full skirt feat-
uring tiny net ruffles and appli:.

The Varna United Church Wo-
maWs Association met on Nov-
ember 27, at the home of the pres-
ident, Mrs. Lee McConnell, who
presided at the meeting. There
were 25 ladies present.
The devotional period was con-
ducted by Mrs. W. T. McAsh with
a Chrisitmas theme. Mrs, Anson
Coleman. read from Luke's Gospel,
Chapter 2, and an appropriate
story was read by Mrs. Percy
Johnston.
The treasttrer,'Miss Rachel John-
ston gave a satisfactory financial
statement. A complete report
will be given in January,
Rev. T. J, Pitt took the chair.
In view of the fact that all the of-
ficers agreed to remain in office
for the two year term there Were
no elections. Mrs. Harvey Hayter
however owing to ill-health,,re-
signed as convener of the sles
committee and Mrs. Robert Stir-
ling was appointed in her place.
There followed an exchange of
Christmas gifts from a nicely dec-
orated Christmas tree. Lunch was
enjoyed.

Next Sunday at the Goshen and
Varna Churches, the 250th anniv-
ersary of Charles Wesley's birth is
to be commenmorated. Wesley
wrote over 6,500 hyMns and many
of them are sung today by all de-
nominations, He is considered to
be one of the greatest hymn-writ-
ers of the Christian church.

Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Elgie, Kip-
pen, entertained at their home in
honor of Mr. and Mrs, Ray Pfaff,
St. Catherines, who were celebra-
ting their sliver wedding anniver-
sary. During the dinner Mr, and
Mrs. Pfaff were presented with a
hammered aluminum sandwich
plate and lazy su,satr.
Miss. Alice Pfaff, Exeter, read
the presentation address, and Car-
ter Holmes, Stratford, made the
presentation. The evening was
spent in p6.ying Court Whist,
Guests were present from St.
Catherines, Hamilton, Burlington,
Hinon, Stratford and Exeter.
