ber 28, that Warner Payne, who
was involved in an automobile lc-
eident on Tuesday night, one mile,
west of Sebringyille, on Highway
8, was returning from the hockey
game at Kitchener.
Mr. Payne and the four .oegu-
pants of his care—Jack Salter,
Stratford; Thomas Shanahan, clip-
ton; Ralph Boyd, Mitchell and
Douglas McCready, Tharnesforcl—
. had been attending a night school
in Stratford, conducted by the
Ontario Department of Highways,
ed from their trailer home over
the weekend and are now estab-
lished in their house on Catherine
Street, which has been recently
renovated.
Clayton Weston, Chicago, visit-
ed his parents, Mr, and Mrs. E. R.
Weston in Goderich from Saturday
until Wednesday. They' were all
the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mal-
corn Toms, for dinner on Monday.'
Miss Nancy Webster, Varna, and
Glen McDonald, Clinttin, students
at Stratford Teacher's College,
are doing practise teaching under
Mrs. William E. Parker, Junior
room, Bayfield Public School, this
week.
Elaine Wester', student at CD-
CI, had the misfortune to hurt the
little finger on her left hand on
Wednesday, of last week. She
was in class in the science labora-
tory when ,she caught her finger
in a stool, injuring it so that it
required medical attention.
George Weston, accompanied his
son Harold; granddaughter, Sus-
anne; and John Bayjack to Fern-
dale on Sunday, where he will
spend the winter. Susanne was
the guest of Elaine Weston for
the weekend while her father and
John Bayjack. were with George
Weston.
'Santa's Parade
A film of Eaton's Santa Claus
parade will be projected in St.
Andrew's United Church basement
on Saturday at 4.30 p.m. This is
free to all children.
Three Baptisms
The Reverend C. E. Peacock of-
ficiated at the baptism of three in-
fants at the morning service in
St. Andrew's United Church, on
Sunday last. They were: Gary
Donald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don-
ald Campbell; David Charles, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Renner;
SteWart Allan, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Turner.

At Home
About 70 persons attended the
"At Home" at the rectory on Tues-
day evening. The Rev. E. J,,sB.
Harrison received his guests in the
hall assisted by wardens and their
wives, Mrs. J. M. Stewart, Mr. and
Mrs. Alf Scotchmer, Jr., of Trin-
ity Church the first hour; Mr. and'
Mrs. Dean Aldwinkle, of St.
John's Varna, the second hour;
and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Middle-
ton, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wise of
St. James' Church, Middleton, the
third hour. Edward Deeves open-
ed the door. Mrs. R. H. F. Gaird-
ner presided over the register for
the guests.
The livingroom was cozy with a
fire burning in the grate air ev-
ening. The mantle of the fireplace
was decked with yellow and white
'mum's and tapers graced the din-
ingroom table, done in white lin-
en with silver tea service.
Mrs. Percy Weston, president of
Trinity Guild, was general conven-

restaurant-size stove in the hall,
