FARB LINE FORUM
(By our Ilensail correspondent)
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Adkins
were hosts for the Parr Line Farm
Forum when they met to discuss
"A new look he Farm Machinery."
Members felt they needed new
machines as follows: a stone pick-
er; a corn picker and sheller; low
cost "ditching machine; drier for
beans, corn and grain, etc.; baler
on the combine; irrigation system.
This forum thinks that stand-
ardization of farm machinery parts
is very important, namely plow
points, cultivator teeth, nuts, bolts,
mower section and guards, .etc.
etc. They also hoped for more
simplified and thus more easily ad-
justed machinery. •
Winners at euchre were Mrs.
Stewart Blaelewell, Mrs, A. Reich-
ert, Henry Adkins and Charles
Robinson. The next meeting will
be at the hone of Mr. and Mrs.
Keith Love.
SS 4 FORUM
(By Mrs. leMerrill?
The SS 4 Goderich Township
Farm Forum met at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lobb on Mon-
day, with 13 members present. It
was decided that versatility is es-
sential to farm machines, and oth-
er valuable features would be low
fuel consumption and uncomplica.•
ted and time-saving change-over
apparatus.
It was thought that, combines
could be improved by having some
attachment that would carry the
Straw from the machine into a
wagon, and later into the barn.
A general questionadre was filled
in by each member, and for rec-
reation "500", euchre and Lost
Heir were played. ,Lunch was ser-
ved by the hostess. Next meeting
will be at the home of Mr, and
Mrs. Robert Thompson.

FIRESIDE FORUM
=The Fireside Farm Forum met
at the home of Mr, and Mrs, Erie
Anderson, with six adults' present,
Members felt that all types of
machines' necessary were already
available.
Members said that the machin-
ery now being used is very handy,
but the improvements made by the
companies makes the machines
out-dated in a few years and
there's no trade-in value for the
old machinery, And, the farmers
haven't enough money to purchase,
all the new equipment.
Winners at euchre were Mrs. S.
Anderson, Bob Jamieson; lone
hands, Mrs. Mertle Babcock, Bert
Hoggart; consolation, Mrs. Marg-
aret Taylor and Joe Babcock.
The next meeting will be at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hog-

Deer Season' '1957
Now that the deer season has
closed in our area it is safe to
compliment most of the hunters
on their safety and sportsmanlike
manner in the bueh this year,
There' were no hunting accidents
in this area, no reports' of hunter
damage or stock being shot.
Violations" of the game and fish-
eries act were few and minor.
Most hunters seemed to have
smartened up in regards to carry-
ing loaded firearms in their cars.
Perhaps they realize they are al-
lergic to holes, in their car roofs.
seats, floors or their heads:
A brief summary of deer taken
show that 60 deer were seen taken
by hunters in the nine townships
between Blyth and Exeter, .• Of
course there were more that were
not chcked, which would bring the
total te approximately 100 deer
eaken.
Some of the hunters in our town
that got their deer were -Charlie
Brandon, Earl Doucette, "Red"
Garon, Richard Steep, .108erth

quhoun, Morris Bateman, Cale

many More that we do not have

pur Constance correspondent)
The Friendly Few Farm Forum
met at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Ross McGregor with a good atten-
dance. They thought a' lot of
machinery could be improved on to
help save hard lobor, but the first
step would be to put the price
down so farmers could buy. them,
Progressive eachre winners were
Mrs. William Jewitt and Frank
Riley; Mrs. Verne Dale and Bill
Jewitt. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Riley
invited the forum to their home for
the next meeting.

well as for the interest of the
students. "Hamlet" will also pro-
