fortune to slip and fall on the ice
at the local arena one Saturday af-
ternoon, X-rays taken at South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, revealed a
fractured left wrist.

heim, and Miss Donna Rigby, Lon-
don, were week long visitors with
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snell.
Preparations are being made for
the short bourse in salads to be
held in the Legion Hall, December
2, at 1.30 p.m. This project spon-

Hullett Council at New Walkerburn Bridge Opening
Council of the Township of Mullett, when
they meet the electors on nomination day this
year, will have ,something "concrete" to report
about. The official opening of the new Walker-
burn Bridge was held last Friday, with all mem-
bers of council present, with the exception of
Tom Leiner, Who was attending the Royal Win-

WMS Meeting
The Woman's Missionary Soc-
iety, met in the school room of the
church on Tuesday afternoon, Nov-
ember 12, with Mrs. W. J. Me-
Beath playing the introductory
music. The worship service was
conducted 'by Mrs. H. Dalrymple
and Mrs. W. Fotheringham. Theme
was "Thine is' the Glory." '
Mrs. S. Davison took the chair
for the business session. 22 ,ans-
wered roll call with' a verse on
Peace, The treasurer stated in
her report that the Th'ankoffering
had amounted to $95.21. Reports
were received from the supply sec-
retary, expense fund treasurenper-
ioclicals, literature' and community
secretary.. The later reported 16
calls made.
Mrs. T. B. Baird gave an inter-
esting reading on Christian Stew-
ardship and Miss E. Hovey repor-
ted current events. A splendid re-
port of the Sectional meeting held
at Winthrop was presented by Mrs.
J. Cairns. It was decided to hold
the Christmas meeting on Tuesday
evening, December 10, at 8 o'clock,
and invite the CGIT girls, leaders
'of the Mission Band and Baby
Band.
The missionary program was
based on "Conversations on Jap-
an,:" the entry of women into in-
dustrial, business and professional
fields from the restricted life of
the, home, This Was given by Mrs,
A. McQueen, Mrs. F. Rathwela and
Mrs. E. Thomson.

served by hostesses Mrs. C. Chris-
tie and Mrs. K. Buchanan and as-
sistants.

The November meeting of the
Willing Workers, of St. Andrew's
United Church, was held at the
home of Mrs, Jack Scotchnaer, and
was opened with the Willing Wor-
kers' Prayer.
Mrs. Grant Stirling chose as her
topic "Endurance" from 1 Peter 2:
20.
The minutes of 'the last meeting
were read by Mrs. E. Rathwell and
adopted on, a motion by Mrs. Rob-
ert Welsh, and Mrs. Bert Greer.
;Eleven members answered the
real call and 'there were, two vis-itors,
Mrs. Robert Blair gave the
treasurer's report. The gift-of-
the-month taken by Mrs. Grant
Turner was received by Mrs., Jack
Scotchmer.
Thank you cards were read and
the cards and flower report giv-
en by Mrs. J, Lindsay.
