Thompson, first president of the local auxiliary when it was formed in 1932 and Mrs, LowIla Hall, Blyth, president of Zone . el, The expression on the president's face is due to the sudden, appearance of a small spar- row, which took flight around the Legion, Hall, just before program time, (News-Record Photo) Mrs. Maude Ladd, Funeral service was conducted on Monday afternoon, November 16, for the late Mrs, William Ladd, who passed away in Go'derich on Saturday, November 16, She was in her 79th year. Service was from the. Ball and Mutch funeral home, High Street, Clinton, to Clinton Cemetery, by the Rev, Grant Mills. Pallbearers were Edward W. Elliott, Caryl W.. Draper, Albert Shaddick, Bert Gliddon, Ross Merrill and Clifford Cooper, all of Clinton. Interment was in Clinton Cemetery, Born at Aylmer in 1879, she was the former Nellie Maude Young, who married William .Ladd and came to Clinton to live 54 years ago. Mr. Ladd passed away in May, 1952. Surviving are two sons, Hugh, Clinton; Percy, Los Angeles, Calif.; two daughters, Kate, Mrs. Robert Reid, Hamilton and Helen, Mrs. Bruce 'Riders, London. Friends attended the funeral coining from St. Thomas, Aylmer,' Detroit, as well as the Surrounding community. William Alexander (By our Hensall correspondent) William F. Alexander, former prominent Hay Township farmer, passed away in South Huron Hos- pital, Exeter, on Tuesday, Novem- ber 19, .where he had been a pat- ient for three years, in his ,78th year. Born in Nebraska, Mr. Alex- ander farmed in Hay from 1909 until retiring to Hensall in 1953. Two years ago they moved to Ex- eter. He served on the Hay coun- cil, trustee for SS 14, Hay, for many years. was a former direc- tor of Hay Bean. Marketing Board, and is presently an elder of St. Andrew's United Church, ICippen, Mrs. Alexander died October 31, 1957. Surviving are two sons, Norman, William. Alexander Addison Funeral service was held • from the Ball and Mutch funeral home, High Street, Clinton, on Tuesday afternoon, by the Rev, J. T. White, Londesboro, for William. Alexander Addison, beloved husband of Mar- tha J, Hoggart. Mr. Addison, who passed away at his home in Lon- desboro on Sunday, November 17 at noon, was in his 84th year, Pall-bearers were William Tre- win, Edward Reed, William Hog- gart, Ivan Hoggart, George Hog- gart and John. Taylor, and Inter- ment was in Burns Cemetery, Hul- lett Township. Born on October 10, 1874, the son of George Addison and Jane Webster, 'he. married Martha J. lloggart on November 14, 1900, and. they farmed on concessions 10 and 13, Hullett Township until re- tiring to Londesboro 12 years ago. He was a, member of Londesboro United Church. Death came to Mr. Addison in his bed, following six months ill- ness. Surviving besides his wife, are two sons, George and Clifford, Hullett Township; two daughters, Mrs: David ' (Violet) Bean, Col- borne Township and Mrs. Charles (Mary) Wallis, Goderich Town- ship; one brother, Jack, Orillia; sister, Mrs. Dora Walker, Clinton; 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs Andrew Hog gart and Mrs. J. Johnston, an one brother, Joseph. Addison, lat of Clinton, predeceased him. Goderich Township Londesboro; John, Hensall; fou daughters, Isobel, Toronto; Mrs Cecil (Doris) Dilling, London; Mr Robert " (Jean) Simpson, Kirktoi Ruth, Exeter; one brother, Alber Alexander, Hensall, and ten grand children. Resting at the Bonthron. funera chapel, Hensall, where public ser viceswere to be held on Thursday November 21, at 2 p.m., conducte• by Rev. Mrs, McGuire's father, Francis Jeffrey, Goderich, passed away in Goderich on Saturday, November 16, in his 85th year. His wife predeceased him earlier this year.
