Rather a curious story must
be told with regard to the
accompanying material print-
ed concerning `Wows of Bay-
field". It is marked "too late
' for last week" and it most
certainly was. 4
However, as far as can be
ascertained this situation was
no one's fault, The envelope
in which this news of the lake
village was contained was
mailed as is customary, on
Wednesday morning, It left
the post office in Bayfield that
day, and is postmarked Oc-
' tober 23, as proof of that fact.
However, it did not arrive in
the Clinton Post Office until
Friday morning. This we are
certain of, since we encourag-
ed 'a thorough search of all
likely spots in the Clinton
Post Office, both on Wednes-
day evening, • and again on
Thursday.
Where the wandering envele
ope Was during Wednesday
and Thursday, we have no
idea, at all.
