(By Don Epps) The date for the oncoming deer season has been officially set for Huron, Perth, Bruce and Grey Counties as November 11 to 14 inclusive. Shotguns only in Huron and Perth.' Rifles can be used in Bruce and Grey, No dogs can be run in any of the four counties. This year there will also be a deser season for archers on Mani- toulin Island, October 19 to No- vember 14 inclusive. This requires a regular deer license and if a deer is taken the hunter is not entitled I te shoot a beer during the gun season. f 'Me squirrel season opens on November 11 through. to the 30th. I Bag limit is five per day. Pheas- ant season opens October 26 to November 2. Bag limit is three cocks per day. Recently there were 96 firearms sold at an auction held by the Department of Lands and Forests. These wore all seized weapons and the majority of them taken over the lack of possessing a license. It seems rather foolish that some peo- ple, for the sake of saving one dollar, could risk the loss possibly of a valuable-firearm. Mrs. Angus Brown 91 Years Old Mrs, Angus Brown recently" cerebrated her 91st birthday at the home of her son, James Brown, Tuckersmith Township. Formerly Jemima Ann Cooper, Kippen, Mrs. Brown was married in 1899 to Angus Brown. In her youth she was a tailoress at Kippen, and she still enjoys 'sewing and knitting. The couple ,farmed in Tucker- smith until Mr. Brown's death in 1943, • In addition to her- son, James, she has two daughters, Mrs. Mur- ray Tyndall, Brucefield, and Mrs. Lloyd Hayter; Clandeboye; 17 grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. She is a member of Egmondville United Church. Youngsters in. In the first quarter of the lat- est game, there was a touchdown by Tom Cunningham and a convert by Frank McDonnell as well as WO touchdowns for Seaforth by Dunlop and Benendicke.
