Sentenced To •
4 Months Term

the Park Honse. in ,Goderich, plead-
ed not guilty to a charge of keep-
ing . liquor for sale, contrary to.
the Canada Temperance Act, last
month in Goderich. Court. He was
convicted on the charge and sent-
enced to four months in the noun-
ty jail by:Magistraie D, r, Holmes.
A. raid on the nrendses by Goder-
ith police had netted 735 bottles
of beer and a part bottle of whisky.
Barry Monroe Fisher, a Etteh-
pngr youth and summer resident
Of Hayfield, was fined S10 and cost
or five days on a charge • on care-
less driving and. a $10 and costs
fine on a charge of unsafe -driving
in Ba.yfield on August 21. He
pleaded not. guilty to beth charges.
This case also. was heard and
sentenced in the Goderich Court
last week.

Mrs. Norman W, Dickert enter-
tained at her home in Kippen in
honor of her daughter, Miss Merle
Dickett, whote marriage to Ken-
neth Ray McLellan, Kippen, took
•place Saturday, ,Septernber 28.
Guests were received by- Mrs.
Dickert and her daughter, assisted
by the groom -elect's mother, Mrs.
Joseph E. McLellan, Kippen.
The rdoms were attractively dec-
orated" with baskets of .gladioli
and in the dining room a yellow
and white color scheme was car-
ried .out with streamers 0.ed bells
and a bouquet of white and yellow
'mums•centred the- tea table. Tall
yellow candles in silver candle
holders flanked the, Centrepiece.
In, the afternoon tea was poured
by Mrs. Edgar Wahl„ Listowel,
and Mrs. John Dickert, garrision,
aunts of the bride. In the even-
ing tea was poured by Mrs. Joan
Forsyth, Kippen, and Mrs. Wil-
liam Klein, Mitchell, aunts of the
groom. Others assisting in the tea
room in the afternoon were Mrs.
John Dietz and Mrs. John Cooper,
Jr., and in the evening Mrs. Wil-
liam Coleman and Mrs. Ray Con
sitt. Assisting In the kitchen in
the afternoon were Mrs. Robert J.
1VieGregor, Mrs. Robert D. Elgie
and.Mrs. John Sinclair and in the
evening Mrs. Winston Workman
and Mrs. Carl MoClinchey.
Shower and wedding gifts were
shown by Mrs. Jack Moore and
Miss Lois MoLellan, sister of the
groomdisplayed the trousseau. In
charge of the linens was Mrs. Har-
old Caldwell in the afternoon and
Miss Bonnie Kyle in the evening,
Kitchenware and miscellaneous
articles were in charge of Miss
Gladys Baker in the afternoon and
1VIrs. Emerson Coleman in the eve-
ning. ,

trip to London, September 23 and
toured the new Post Office, Kel-
logg's, IVLoCorrnicit's, Tweedsmuir
Hall and C.F.P.L, radio station.
MM. E. Geiger, London, foprierly
of Hensall, went on the trip with
them.

farm home just south of Hensel].

farmer was able to pull out the
choke of the machine and stop
the motor.
