The president, Mrs, Fred Mid-
dleton welcomed the members
back to their regular 'routine and
thanked them all for their aen-
erqus help at the successful, bak-
ink sale.
It was. decided to give $50 to
the Church Wardens towards the
budget.
Mrs. Stewart Middleton spoke
on their recent trip to ,Midland,
Mich, 44The City of Churches"
with particular reference to the
new and ultra-modern St, John's
Episcopal church, where Mr. '1k/or-
gan a former incumbent at l3ay,
field, is now the assistant rector.
Mrs. Keith Miller gave two
lovely readings, "At the close of

Huron. County 4-1-1 'Garden Club
had their exhibits on display at
the Western Fair on Monday.
There were four clubs from Huron
and four from Perth County. This
'is just for display, not competition
at the fair. Seaforth club had a
display under the leadership of
Mrs. W. L. Whyte.
Congratulation's to Miss. Laurel
Dale, hawing won the honor of first
place in the Junior livestock judg- •
ing competition at. Western Fair
on Monday. Laurel is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Dale,
RR 1, Clinton; Her father is show-
ing some of his dairy cows this
year.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Lawson and
Reg were in London on Sunday
with their daughter and son-in-
law, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Warren
and family.
The Constance Church anniver-
sary will be held Sunday; Septem-
ber 22 at 11 a.m. and 7.30 p.m.
Rev. J. H. Slade, Woodham, will be
the guest speaker. The Auburn-
ettes will furnish special music.
Karl Lohse who has been work-
ing near Sirncoe in the tobacco
area, has returned to his home in
the village.
The' Sunday School rally service
will be held this Sunday at two
o'clock. Rev. S. T. White. will
speak, Special music by the Sun-
day School pupils.
Fred Prest, Lonclesboro, is busy
decorating the Sunday' School,
rooms of Constance Church this
week.

dent Mrs. W. Bradnock. She gave
a brief resume of the work of the
Women's Institute and read an
address given by Mrs. Berry,
president of the Associated- Coun-
try Women of the World.

On Thursday 'evening, Septem-
ber 6, the Londesbore Women's
Institute had a very interesting
meeting. The topic of the meeting
was "Citizenship and Education"
and Mrs. Len Caldwell, the con-
vener, had as her guest speaker,
Mrs, John E. Robinson, Zurich,
English department head at Clin-
ton District Collegiate Institute.
The business part of the meeting
was conducted by the president,
Mr. and Mrs, Harry Lear gave a
surprise party on Saturday even-
ing in honour of her ,parents? Mr,
and Mrs, William Manning. The
occasion was their 25th wedding
anniversary, _About 20 relatives
and friends were present. A pleas-
ant evening was spent playing
Court Whist, then Mrs. Margaret
Manning led the singing of "Happy
Happy Anniversary"• as a table
was brought in laden with gifts

eon was served with coffee and
wedding cake.
