Frank Wilson, Toronto, visited
relatives and friends in Clinton
last week. Over 55 years ago he
left Clinton after learning the shoe
business with the late Jake Taylor.
He is still employed as a shoe
salesman in '!Toronto.
Mr. and MDs. George Taylor,
Cdbourg, called on Mr, and Mrs,
attunes Livermore on Sunday, Mr,
Taylor was, an employee or the
Canada Packers here some 12
years ago and this was his first
visit back to Clinton. They are
holidaying at Grand Bend.

Tuesday evening jitney was en-
joyed by quits a number of bowl-
ers. The ladies first prize was won
by Mrs. G. W, Nott; second, Mrs,
W. Jervis and Mrs, Bert Boyes,
tied. For the men, Tiarry. Sturdy
won first and Percy Liverznore
was second. •

Annual Pxerie
The Clinton Branch ,or the Loyal
Orange Benevolent Association
held its. annual picnic on the lawn
of Mr, and .Mrs, Wes Shobbrools,
north of town, on Tuesday even-
ing, August 27, with a good at-
tendance. After a delicious supper,
topped air with heaping platters
of .cora from the h'oste'ss"s garden,
a full line -of sperts was run off.
In spite of the cool evening, every-

bekah Lodge will hold their first
meeting of the fall season next
Wednesday, September 4, begin-
ning with a pot -lucid supper sew-
ed at 6,30 o'clock. The meeting
will be in the lodge rooms, over
the Clinton Public Utilities offices.

Funeral service was conducted
Tuesday afternoon'
August 27,
from the Beattie funeral home,
Rattenlbury Street East, for Miss
Rose Tebbutt, who passed away
on Sunday, August 25, in her 78th
year. The Rev. Grant L. Mills,
Ontario Street United Church, of-
ifaiated,
Pall -bearers were N. W. Tre-
wartha, William Biggart, Edward
Scruton, George Grant, Edward
N1ckle and Dr, G. S. Elliott. In-
terment was in Clinton Cemetery.
Born in God'erich Township, the
daughter of the late Frederick and
Jane Louise Tebbutt,she was the
last of a family of 12.
Miss Tebbutt was 'retired front
Work at the Wearwetl Hosiery r
mill (snow Clinton Hosiery Co.). I.
A member of Wesley -Willis
United Church, Miss Tebbutt was
very well liked by her neighbours
and friends, and was equipped with
a great spiritual strength.
Surviving are one niece, Miss
Grace Bracey, Hamilton; one
grand -niece, Miss Emily and two
grand -nephews, John Scruton,
Clinton and Edward Scruton, God-
ertch.
