up land near Holnesville.
Guests were present from Cal-
ifornia, Detroit, Dresden, Kin-
cardine, London, Toronto, Strat-
ford, Aylmer, Clinton, Seaforth,
and Giodexieh.

OBITUARY
Oliver Welsh
After a short illness in Victoria
Hospital, London, Oliver Robert
Welsh, late of RR 5, Clinton, pas-
sed away, and was 1aid to rest on
Sunday afternoon, July 28, in Clin-
ton
linton! Cemetery, The Rely. G. G.
Burton officiated, assisted, by
Rev, J. R. Bailey, Mitchell, for
the funeral service held from the
Beattie funeral home, under 'the
auspices of Murphy Lodge, LOL
No. 710. Miss Faye Bailey, sang.
Pall -bearers were Tack Gibson,
Rxoy Tyndall, Fred Middleton,
Fred Thompson, Norman Ball,
George Henderson, and flower -
bearers were Charles Cooper, Asa
D.eeves, Charles Nelson, Douglas
Freeman, Charles Stewart, Wil-
liam Riehl, Frank Falconer, Mel-
vin Crich, Frank Thompson and
Fred Gibson.

Mr. Welsh, from the many hours
of recreation, he and his wife pro-
vad'erd in the rnanerous musical
activities of the neigbbonanccod.
The funeral was largely attended
Eby his, na;any friends and relatives,
some of whom were acquaintances
made during the six winters spent
with his wife in Florida.
He was a respected and honour-
ed citizen, and his passing is re-
gretted by the whole community.
Born in Clinton, November 1,
1888, he was the youngest son of
the late Alexander Welsh and
Many Ann Stephenson, and he liv-
ed in town until he was six years
olds. Then he moved with his fam-
ily to the farm now occupied by
his son, Robert H. Welsh, on the
Bayfield Line, Goderich Township.
In 1940 he retired to a small farm
at RR 5 Clinton, on the Bayfield
Road.
He was a member of Murphy
Lodge LOL No, 710, Clinton, and
the Fife and Drum Band.
On December 6, 1916, he roar-
ried the former Nellie May Hicks,
who survives him, Also surviving
are one son, Robert; one daugh-
ter, Mts. J. S. (Helen) Wilson,
Toronto and six grandchildren; one
brother, Norman, at Lambeth.
Another brother, Arthur, prede-
ceased him in 1947.

lene Maize, Dungannon, who wore
a strapless gown of blue lace and
net cover taffeta and a. matching
jacket. She carried a cascade bou-
quet of pink tinted 'mums and
were a matching flower bandeau
on her head.

his brother's groomsman,

Grill, Godeccich; the brid'e's aunt,
Mrs, George Baxter ,received the
guests wearing a gown of green
and white figured nylon with
whitte accesaoxies, a pink hat and
a corsage of - white tinted carna-
tions.
Ear a 'trip through Northern
Ontario the bride wore a gown: of
black brocaded taffeta with pink
hat and accessories to match. On
their return. they will reside in
Goderic'h.
