A two-week long vacation Bible
School Was completed in We,sley-
Willis United Church last Friday
When closing day exercises were
held, and a large attendance of

For' their wedding trip the bride
donned a turquoise sheath dress
with vvibite, aecessories, and an or-
chid corsage. Mr. and Mrs, Avery

United Church was the scene of
the marriage of Virginia Margaret
Shearer to Bruce Bartbn Bechtel
on June 29. The bride is the
elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
James Shearer, Bright; and the
groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Wilbert Bechtel, New Dundee.
The double ring ceremony was
performed by Rev, Mr; Welsh.
Mrs, George Shearer presided at
the organ. Before the ceremony
the soloist Mrs, Neil Hodgins

OBITUARY.
W. Cunningham
!Funeral service was conducted
from the Stiles funeral hona.e, God-
erich, on Monday afternoon, July
15, for Walter Cunningham, 86,
who tiled on Friday, July 12, at
the residence of his daughter, Mrs.
Pearl Straugham Goderich,
The Rev, a A. Eiustace, North
Street United Church, Gotterich,
officiated and interment was in
Burns Church Cemetery, Hullett
Towriship.
Born in Hullett, Mr. Cunning-
ham went to. Southern, Manitoba
in 1907, returning in 1911. He
married the farmer Anna Marg-
aret Riddell, who died in 1951,
Retiring in 1926, Mr. Cunning-
ham lived in Glencoe, before .com-
ing to Goderich to live eight yews,
ago. He was a member of the
North Street United Church.
Surviving are one son, Guy J.
R. Cunningham, Hullett; two
daughters, Mrs. Straughan; Mrs.
Russell (Elizabeth Alice) Garrison
Waterloo; 13 !grandchildren; 25
great' grandchildren and eight
great -great-grandchildren.
The Canadian Red Cross Corps
contributed volunteer service in 23
'Canadian communities in 1956.
