"Young Albert at the ZQ10.
H. Gordon Manning gave an ex-
celleut address, recounting the
work of the honoured couple in
the church, and remarked' espec-
ially on the fine assistance given
by Mrs. Wilson as- helpmate to the
minister,
Irvine Tebbutt, RR: 2; Clinton,
presented ..a substantial sum. of
money from the two congregat-
ions and knowing with what en-
thusiasm the Rev, and Mrs. •Wil-
son enjoy TV, the money was giv-
en' them with this purchase in view.
In his' reply, Mr. Wilson stated
that it had been one of the real
joys df his life to serve here and
though he felt he did not deserve
the remarks' made so graciously,
he was' gratified at, these directed
to Mrs. Wilson,

The Mothers' Study Group of Wesley Willis United .Church . met
at the home of Mrs. Clyde Mock
on Tuesday evening, June 25, Mrs.
Percy Livermore was in charge
:of the meeting and opened with
a Poem-entitled ''Leisure," Clyde
and Barbera Mock gave some
very enjoyable numbers on the
piano and violin,
Miss Evelyn Hall, Clinton Lib-
rarian, gaVe an interesting ac-
count of the children's section of
the library and told of ways in
which she -tried to help the child
ren in choosing and locating
books. She also gave the moth-
ers some helpful hints as to how
they could help their children to
get interested iii -coding and help
them in choosing the proper type
of reeding.
After this very interesting dis-
cussion, a social time was enjoyed
and lunch was.served by the bog-
less, assisted by Mrs. Edwin, and
Mrs. Stoll.

a cemetery near Spalding.

field. After a short time the
house. was burned, and the• family
went back to' their home in the.
west, near the new town of Naic-
am, where the CPR came through
making it a better place to. live,
Chris toole a keen interest in the
growth-of this small town and al-.
though of a retiring eisposition he
never failed to help in any way
to! advance its progress: He ser-
ved on the board of trustees of
the very fine school for many
years, and from there, five of his
daughters giadu.ated, with four of
them taking up the teaching pro-
fession, He -was active in the,
church, the Odd Yellows and the
Orange Lodges.
In 1947, he disposed of his farm.
and returned to Ontario, where he
purchased the farm formerly own-
ed by William Dows!on, about half
a mile from Varna, where they
still reside.

all were reeinstalled, with the. ex-

It, was decided to hold meetings
on the third Friday evening every
three months', instead of every

homestead in the !Spalding district,
working in the lumber woods air-
ing the' winter, and breaking up.
