tables decorated with spring flow-
ers. Mrs. W. Jervis and her
group very ably carried out- the
decorations representing a spring
garden, MrS, M. Nediger dressed
in old-fashioned costume and car-
rying a lace umbrella mingled
among the ladies-at the tea tables
singing, "An Old-fashioned Gar-
den."
little Helpers
Hold Service
In Parish Hall
The Little Helpers of St. Paul's
Anglican Church held their annual
service and party on Thursday af-
ternoon, June 20. A short divine
service was held in the church
with the Rev, C. S. hider conduc-
ting. Mrs. Theo. Frem4n presid-
ed at the orgam
Later a party was held in, the
Parish Hall. Mrs. Inder assisted
by pouring tea. Tirefreshments
were served by members of the
Senior WA. Games and races
held on the Rectory lawn,
were conducted by Mrs. Thomas
Twyford, Mrs. Roy Bellinger, Mrs,
Bruce I3artliff. Mrs. Lillian Mc-
Kinnon was again the kind donor
of ice cream bars to each child.
A very enjoyable time was held
by all.

Anglicans Surprise Minister With 'Welcome Gift

A joint meeting of the Woman's
Association and Woman's Mission-
ary Society of the Wesley-Willis
United -Church was held in the
church parlor, on June 13. Mrs.
F. Andrews president of the WA
presided for a short business per-
iod. Mrs, D. Andrews and Mrs.
Wesley Holland sang a duet ac-
companied by Mrs. N. Shepherd-.
Mrs. C. NelSon as president of
the'VeMS, presided for the devo-
tional part of that meeting. Miss
IVIcRoberts told of the work of the

der the WMS. Mrs'. Wilfred Jer-
vis, leader, outlined the work done

Band; and Mrs. Wilson, leader of
the Baby Band, outlined the work

Mrs. Nelson called Mrs. F. An-
drews and' Mrs, Wilson to the
front -and Mrs. Wilson was pre-
sented with a parting gift from
the ladies. Mrs. Wilson made a
fitting reply and expressed her
-gratitude for the- assistance- she
had received front the ladies at
different times. -
Mrs. Hearn conducted a con-
test. Mrs. M. Nediger favoured
with a Selo.

The Fourth: Clinton Brownie
Pack have been as busy as. little
bees this month. June 1 *as their
hike. They met .at the post of-
flee, then proceeded down Huron
Road until they :carne` to the old
Winghain railinad track, where
tiley turned off into the bush,
There they ate, played games,
built fires, roasted marshmallows
and caught peliwogs„ then walked
through until they came to the
cut line, They were very tired
when they reached towil, but they
were happy.

June 15 was the cookie day, The.
Brownies sold cookies front nine
until 12, regardless of the heat.

The final meeting took place. at
the Clinton Community Park
where they. met with, the "First
Clinton Brownie Pack until rain
defeated them. They gathered
under trees to devour hot dogs;
ice cream and Freshie, few
games were enjoyed. before 'saying
gOod-by September, They
would also like to give special.

in Bayfield, and presented them
with -a gift, The Men's Club sup,
per meeting,' at which wives were
guests, presented Mrs, Eagle with
a corsage, and Rev, Eagle, with a
leather briefcase.
The Turner's United , Church
Woman's AssociatiOn held a fam,
ily supper meeting, and presented.
.Mrs. Eagle with—a quilt, with all -
the names of persons in the con,
gregation embroidered on it.
