ing followed, and with the presi-
dent, Mrs. S, Farquhar in the

shoe size. Mrs. Edward Grigg gave
the treasurer's report.
It was decided to have an auc-
tion at the July meeting. The
report of the afternoon session of
the WA,Presbytery meeting held at
Londesboro was given by Mrs.
Frank McCullough. The meeting
closed with a hymn and prayer by
Mrs. Farquhar, At this time, Mrs.
H. C. Wilson was. asked to come
forward. Mrs. L. Bond read the
address and Mrs, L. Jervis, on be-
half of the WMS and WA presen-
ted Mrs. Wilson with',a parting
gift. Mrs; Wilson thanked the
ladies for their kindness, and lun-
ch was served' by the hostesses

Mrs, Margaret Erroit, Toronto,
addressed the Woman's Missionary
Societi of Goshen: United Church
and their guests from Zurich EV-.
angelical Church, and. Hensall
ited on June 13, Mrs, Erratt was
a member of Goshen Church, be-
fore leaving 'to take the position
of superintendent of the Presiden-
tial School of the Indians at Mun-
eey, where she labored for seven
years. She has been superinten-
dent of the Barbara House for
girls in Toronto, for 14 years, The
basis of her address was "What
manner of Women would we all
like to be?"
Over 100 members and guests
were present and were welcomed
by the president Mrs. John Arm-
strong, who chaired the meeting,
Sacred . passages were read by
Mrs. Kenneth Parkes, and prayer
offered by Mrs. T .J. Pitt. Spec-
ial numbers included a duet sung
by Mrs, Elmer Hayter, and Mrs.
Robert Peck of the Goshen; read-
ings by Mrs. G. Rowe, Hensall;
musical number by Mrs. Claire
McBride, and Mrs. William Tay-
lor on the cornets, and Mrs, Des-
jardine on the accordian, all of
Zurich; vocal solo by Miss Clara
Clarke of the Goshen.
Mrs. John Robinson extended
courtesy remarks to those• taking
part in the program. Mrs, Bruce
Keys was pianist for the meeting.
The church and Sunday School
rooms were decorated with spring
flowers, Birthday honors were ex-
tended to Mrs. Elgin McKinley.
Mrs. G. Armstrong, Hensall, and
Mrs. Delbert Geiger, Zurich, ex-
pressed thanks on behalf of their
groups, at the conclusion of the
luncheon.

WA and MIS
The June meeting of the Wo-
man's Missionary Society of 'Hal-
mesville United Church was held
in the Sunday School rooms on
Tuesday, June 11,' Mrs. Nirrian,
Heard's group was in charge of
the program, with Mrs, Reg Miller
in the chair. Scripture lesson was
read by Mrs. W. Biggin and Mrs.
Miller gave the comments on it.
Mrs. N. Heard led in prayer.
Mrs, L. Jervis, the president
conducteal the business. Mrs. N.
Heard gave a reading "Triumph
of Life." Mrs, H. C. Wilson gave
a few notes on Christian citizen-
ship and Mrs. W. R. Labb gave a
SS 11, Hullett TovOnship, the
school just two miles east of Lori-
desboro, proved to have more good
athletes than, any other in the
township on Tuesday, when the
pupils racked up a total of 48
points in the township field day •
David Scanlon, with 14 points,
earned the. grand • championship
cup, donated by the township
council, and helped to swell the
total earned by SS 11. David, in
the nine years and under class,
won all events, except the running
broad jump, when' he lost first
place to Alan Caldwell.

Airmen Sentenced
in Goderich
Court., Magistrate's Lourt,
Three airmen from Station Clin-
ton, were convicted of theft occur-
ring last month at the Anson Gil-
bert Garage here, in magistrate's
court in Goderich last Thursday,
Fergus Burris and Wayne N, War-
n.er, both were sentenced to three
months in jail. Barry J, Ervin
received' a sentence of four mon-
ths.
Accidents
An accident at the main inter-
section last week resulted in. darn-
age to two cars of $100, according
to Chief H. R. Thompson. A car
driven by John James Mitchell,
Was pulling out from a parked
position in front of Pinger's res-
taurant, when another car driven
by Thomas J. Thomson, Chesleya
approaching the corner along
Highway 8, caught the front fen-
der of the James car,
J. Charbonneau and a passenger
in his 1953 model car were unhurt
