Edwin Leslie Brooks died

Clinton, he had been born in Mit-
chell,
After receiving his education
there he attended the 'University,
of Toronto, graduating as a drug:

the First World War with, the
Princess Patricia Canadian Light
Infantry and in Canada with the.
Canadian Army during-Werld War

Surviving are his wife, the for-
mer Barbara Betts, Toronto, for-
merly of England; one son, John
(Jadk) of 'Corunna; four grand
children; one brother, ,Charles
Brooks, Mitchell; two sisters, Mrs,
Irene Gardiner, Clinton and Mrs.
Gordon Scheerer (Olive) Detroit.
He was predeceased by one broth-
er Harry, three years ago at Lon-
don.
The funeral service was in Tor-
onto on Wednesday, June 5; and
interment was in Mount Pleas-
ant Cemetery. Pall-bearers were
fellow employees from the Tam-
blyn Drugstore.

Funeral service' was conducted
last Saturday afternoon, June 3,
at the eattie home, Ilat-•
teniniry Street East, Clinton, for
Miss. Margaret Isabel Vanderburgh
dear daughter pf Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Vanderburgh, who passed
away in London hospital, on Wed-
nesday, Aim 5, She was in her
43rd year.
Rev, D, J. Lane, minister at St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church, of-
ficiated. Pall-bearers were Austin
and Tony Hartman, Bruce Ryan,
all of Goderich; Harvey Hodge,
Fort Albert; Alvin Betties, RR 2,
Bayfield; Charles Johnston, the
Nile.
Flower-bearers were Barry Mc-
Cif:net-ley, Ottawa; Kenneth and
Tommy Vanderhurgh, Moncton;
George and Dennis' Vanderburgh,
Garth and Garnet Picot, Kenneth
Hartman, all of Goderich.
Born at Porter's IWI, Miss
Vanderburgh had moved with her
parents, to Clinton in -the fall of
1.930 and had lived here since, She
was a member of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church.
Surviving besides her parents,

Mx, and Mrs. Wallace Walter Kisch, Clinton, were married in
North Street United Church, Goderich, on Saturday afternoon
by the Rev. A. E. Eustace. The bride is Sandra Kay, daughter of
Mr, and Mrs, Alex Thompson, Goderich, and has been employed in
the office of the Clinton Community Credit Union. Her husband
is the son of Mrs. Cecil Hansen, Sangudo, Alta., and the late
Walter Kisch. He is at RCAF Station Clinton, and the young

The Rev. Sidney Davison offic-
iated at a double-ring ceremony in
Brucefield United Church, Satur-
day, June 8, when marriage vows
were exchanged by Marion Jean-
ette Ross, daughter of Mr .1 and
Mrs. Seldon Ross
'
Brucefield, and
George Stirling Warner, son of
Mrs. Warner' and the late Percy
Warner, Goderich. The church
was beautifully decorated with
yellow lilies and mauve iris.
Mrs, Jean Cairns, Brucefield,
sang, "Oh Perfect Love" and "I
Love You Truly" accompanied by
the church organist, Mrs: 3. R.
Murdoch.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a floor-length gown
of Chantilly lace and net over
satin trimmed with sequins, and.
pearls with matching lace jacket
with Peter Pan collar and lily-
point sleeves. Her fingertip veil
of silk illusion was held by a
Juliet cap 'pleated of tulle sprin-
kled with sequins and rhinestones,
and she carried a bouquet of pink
roses on a white Bible.
Miss Betty Jean Ross sister of
the bride as maid of honour, and
Mrs Anne McGinnis, Galt, as
bridesmaid, wore waltz - length
gowns of 'lace and net over tafNta
in shades of orchid and yellow re-
spectively, with headdress and
gloves to match, carrying bou-
quets of yellow and mauve chrys-
anthemums.
Harry Warner was his brother's
groomsman. Jimmie Ross, broth-
er of the bride was ring bearer
and- ushers were Lloyd Sowerby,
cousin of the groom and George.

At the reception held in the
church parlour, the bride's mother
received in a dress of romance
blue crepe with white accessories
and corsage of pink carnations.
She was assisted by the groom's
mother who wore white figured
nylon with white accessories• and
corsage of yellow carnations.
For travelling, the bride donned
an orchid duster over a matching
figured dress with white accessor-
ies and a corsage of pale pink ros-
es.
The young couple left for a trip
through the United States. Upon
their return they will reside in.
Goderich.
