HomeMy WebLinkAboutClinton News-Record, 1957-05-30, Page 3These days most people work, under
pressure, worry more, sleep less. This
strain on body and brain makes physical
fitness easier to lose—harder to regain.
Today's tense living, lowered resistance,
overwork, worry—any of these may affect
normal kidney action. When kidneys get
out of order, excess adds and wastes
remain in the system. Then backache,
disturbed rest, that "tired-out" heavy-
headed feeling often follow. That's the
time to take Dodd's Kidney Pills. Dodd's
stimulate the kidneys to normal action.
Then you feel better—sleep better—work
better. Ask for Dodd's Kidney Pills at

Miss Snell Chosen
'Valedictorian of
1957 Graduates
Graduate Nurses
Three young ladies from Clinton
and district featured in the grad-
nation exercises in 'Stratford from
the School of Nursing there last
week.
They were Miss Marilyn Shad-
dick, daughter of Constaible and
Mrs. A. E. Shaddick, Clinton; Miss
Ruth M. Clarke, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. William G, Clarke, Var-
na, and Miss Jayne Mary Snell,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam
Snell, RR 2, Clinton,
Jayne Mary was selected vale-
dictorian and delivered the address
at the graduation exercises, She
based her remarks upon happiness
in the "red letter day" of graduat-
ion; pride in achievement; sorrow
in the ending of student days, and
humility before the great number
of things still unexplained to the
medical and nursing professions.
She spoke of the patience of
instructors, and doctors during
training. "Each one of us has
gleaned knowledge of the- human
complexities, and through the ex-
perience of living with one an-
other and caring for patients, we
have gained an applicable know-
ledge of human relationship," she
said.
After reminiscing over Memor-
able events during training, Miss
Snell ended. "To my fellow class-
mates I wish each of you luck,
satisfaction, and happiness in
JA.YNE 51AKY SNELL.
whatever the future holds for you
and whatever success you glean.
"With the attaining of each new
success, may you remember that
the seeds for that success and-the
strength to attain it were planted
during your School of Nurging.
Days,
"And as you go 'out into the
unknown, put your hand into the
hand of God. That shall be to
you better than light and safer
than the known way',"

Division Of Costs
For Justice Is
Debated Recently
The controversial division of
cost between urban and rural
municipalities of administration
of justice will have to be settled
among councils of the municipal-
ities concerned, it was 'indicated
last Wednesday at the annual
meeting of the Huron County
Municipal Officers' Association.
County To Decide
Kenneth G. Crawford, Ontario
deputy minister of municipal af-
fairs, said Government subsidies
are now paid directly to the mun-
icipalities and the county itself
will have to find a satisfactory
answer to the question of division.
The matter was raised by De-
puty Reeve Nelson Trewartha,
Clinton. Some rural municipali-
ties now believe they are get-
ting a "raw deal", and are bear-
ing an unequal share of justice
costs, it was pointed out.
The problem is expected to
raise a lively discussion at the
June sessions of Huron County
council.
Hon. C. D. How's, in town for
a major election speech, was a
special guest of association mem-
bers at noon luncheon in Knox
Presbyterian' Church.
B. W. Brokenshire, ZuriCh, Hay
Township war elected president of
the association for the coming
year.
Other officers are: Huron clerk-
treasurer A. H. Erskine, honorary
president; George Cowan, first
vice-president; George Martin,
committee, one Year, Harold Pol-
lock; two years, Alex Alexander;
three years, James McQuaid; S.
H. Blake, treasurer, and J. G.
Berry, secretary.
