23, 1357, with 13 members,

A very large sale was held, in
Hensall\ last Thursday, with' the
,greatest number of animals ever
sold at the Hensall Community
Sale. ,
The 250 pigs• sold at $65 to $100
for sows .
'
$17 to $26 for chunks
and $11.50 to $15.50 for‘weanlings,
,Fat cattle- sold at $12.70 per
cwt. There were 120 cattle and
calves sold, with a goad demand
for stocker and fat cattle. Holstein
cows brought from '$110 to $185.
Herefords went for $110 to $160
and Durham •arid Hereford calve's
brought $20 to $45. Holstein calves

WA Meeting
The Woman's Association- met
in' the Sunday School room on
Tuesday afternoon, March 5, with
an attendance of 37. Mrs, H.
Berry presided for the worship
service, using as the opening hymn
"Faith of, our Fathers." Mrs. S.
Davison gave the Scripture read-
Ing from Hebrews 1; 1 to 10, and
a psalm was read in unison. ,
Mrs. W. Broadfpot , gave the
topic on Faith, after which a hy:.,
mn was sung and prayer was of-
fered by Mrs, Berry.
The president, Mrs. J. Broad-
foot took the chair for the re-
mainder of the meeting. The roll
call was answered by a St. Pat-
rick's day verse. Thank-you.-notes
were read from Mrs. Davison, Mrs.
Y. Aidwinckle and G. Richardson.
The roll call for the April meeting
will be an Easter verse.'
--There was no action taken on
joining the Film Board. ' The
meeting closed with the WA, hymn
and- prayer. Group had charge
of the program which consisted of
group singing of Irish songs, and
a reading by Mrs. Dayinan.

Paper Collection
Save your newspapers and mag-
azines. The Brucefield Young
People's Union is planning a paper
collection in the village area, and
will be calling 'at all homes on
Saturday, March 30. When spring
cleaning, save your papers, bundle
them securely, and have • them
ready for pick up. The young
people plan„to cover the second
concession of both Tuckersmith
and Stanley Townships, as well as
along Highway 4, and the area
covered will be from Baird's school
south to SS 14 Stanley.
Farewell Party
A surprise farewell party was
staged in. SS 3; Tuckersmith, last
Friday night, ' March 8, for Mr.
and Mrs. Mac Chesney and Bar-t
bare.. The Chesneys have sold
Their farm and are leaving this
week -for Sarnia.
MiSs Bonnie Dalrymple made
the presentation to Barbara of a•
pair of boudoir lamps. John
Broadfoot and W. Lot Wilson 'pre-
sented a coffee table and a trilite
lamp -'to Mr. and Mrs. Chesney
and the presentation address was
read by George. McCartney.
During the evening of euchre,

There was a geed attendance at
