SS 4, COMMUNITY' CLUB
HOW BUSINESS MEETING
The SS 4, Community Club met
at the home' of Mrs. James Lobb
for the last meeting. The vice-
president, Mrs, J. Tebbutt was in
charge of the meeting.
Following the business discus-
ion, the-meeting was closed• with
the Mizpah benediction. The re-
mainder of the afternoon was spent
in quilting, LunCh • was served
with Mrs. I, Tebbutt and Mrs. M.
Jones assisting the hostess.
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Mrs. J. Merrill.

William J„ moiler passed, away
in„ •,. . Hospital on
Tuesday; March 5. He had been
-in poor health for a; .year and had
'been in the hospital `three weeks..
Born at Langside in Kinloss
Township, Bruce County, on Jan-
uary. 1880, he was the son of .
Redpath Falconer and Anne Mc-
Lean- and was the last„,„ surviving
member of a 'farrtily.-of seven.
As a young mart,- he came to,
Huron County and ton , August 17,
1903- he was married., to Mabel
Stenbury. Mast of his married.
life was spent on the farm on. the
London Road, in Stanley Town-
ship.
Active in community affairs he
Served as a councillor on the
Stanley Township Council for five
years. A 'Member of the LOL and
Black Knights, he served as past
county master for. South Huron for
both organizations. _
He is survived by his wife, two
daughters, Jean, Goderich; Mrs.
Erlin Whitmore (Kathleen) Sea-
forth; four sons, George, Tucker• -
*smith; Laurence at horiae; Frank-
lin and Mervyn, both of Tucker-)
smith. -
There are 13, grandchildren and
five great grandchildren. One son
Victor died in June 1949.
Funeral, service will be held on
Thursday afternoon; March 7, at
2 p.m. from the Beattie funeral
home by ReV, A. G. Eagle with in-
terment to follow in Clinton cem-
etery.. — •
The -pallbearers will be Mervyn
Hanley, Charles Nelson, James
Turner, M. J. Schoenhals; Asa
Deeves, John Henderson and the
flower bearers: Walter Layton,
Howard Snell', James Horton, Ar-
thur. Tichborne, Harry 'Torrance

the play's business manager Rob-
ert Taylor, showed a very satis-
fabtory net return. Mr. Taylor
added that the play had done more

Union. A most sincere vote of
appreciation was extended to Rob-
ert Taylor. for his most excellent
job as play 'business Manager.

Programs for the year were
made out. Mrs.- Watkins had
charge of the mystery box which
was won by Mrs.. Anderson, Sr.
There was- a sale of homemade

ing "God Save the Queen," after
which- a, delicious lunch was ser-
ved by Mrs. Van Ninhuys and
Mrs,- Manning.
The March meeting will be at
the home of Mrs. Rooth. - Hostess-
es are Mrs. Rooth and Mrs, Wat-
kins. Mrs. Collins will have char-
ge of the program. Roll call will be

Commission, last week received an award from the
• Ontario Municipal Electric Association, commemorative of 22
active years with the Clinton PUC and co-operation, with the.
Ontario' Hydro' glectric Commission. Brilliantly illuminated, the

day,. February 28, with 331 mem-
bers and three visitors present.'
The meeting opened with the sing-- '
ing of the "Ode" and repeating
the Mary Stewart Collect and:
Lord's Prayer in unison.
Communications were read by
the secretary, Mrs. Nelson. Mrs,
T. O'Connell and Mrs. Managhan ,
were appointed to supervise the'
garden club.

Another feature of the meeting
