May your New Year, and the
days to come, be joyous;
prosperous and peaceful! „
The annual Christmas concert
presented by SS No, 10 Fairmount
School on Tuesday evening, Dec-
ember 18, maintained the high
standard' set in previous years.
The, Star Drill by 'the little girls,
a maypole type of dance, was very
'sweet indeed. The song "Pres-
ents" by Donnie Welsh 'and Tom-
my Craig was very apropos.
Catherine Welsh, now a ICDICI
student sang lovely seasonal sol-
os, Especially enjoyed was the'
dialogue "The Truth Telling
Machine," in operation at a wo-
rrian's meeting.
That perennial favourite, "the
square dance" was put on with
great gusto. The best clap of the
evening was given the Rooster
Drill, with most realistic cos-
tumes. The junior boys in this
number appeared as• gigantic
white roosters with very full
crops. Never saw the like!
The three Rathsvell girls fasts,
oured with a coronet, clarinet
number,
A double duet "Lovelidst Night"
was pleasingly presented by Bon-
nie Stirling, Grace Flewitt, Ail-
een, Rathwell and Lois Rathwell.
Bonnie Stirling gave a piano
solo consisting of a carol melody,
Lois Rathwell also gave a piano
solo. The timely dialogue of "The
Party Line," was too true to be
funny!
