during, the lighting of the candles.
Two carols were sung and the
service closed with the benedict-
ion.
Prior to lunch being served,
Mrs. Fred McGregor (who has re-
cently moved to. Brucefield) was
presented wit hacup and saucer
from the WA,' Mrs. „E. Layton,
Mrs, J.,. Turner,. Mrs, E. Crich
were hostesses, bringing the year'
1956 to a very successful close.

their son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Basil. Holloway, and
their grandson.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Curling-
harm left this week, to be with
Mr. and Mrs. John E. Cuningharne
in Syracuse, N.Y., for Christmas
and New Year's remaining until
after Eiphany.
Mrs. Thomas Leppington, Clin-
ton, spent Wednesday with Mr.
and Mrs. Roy F. Leppingtoe and
family, Brucefield.

In Home Of
Mrs. Russell Brock

Amid 'Christmas motif and gaily
decorated tree, Kippen East Wo-
men's Institute held their, Christ-
mas meeting at the home of Mrs.
Russell Brock on December 12,
with Mrs. Fred Brock as co-host-
ess: Children of pre-school age
were the special guests. Mrs,
Campbell Eyre, president, chaired
the meeting.
e Roll call was answered by' a
Christmas verse. The motto: "Let
us keep Christ in Christmas" Was
given by Mrs. James McNaugh-
ton; a Christmas story by Mrs.
Robert Gemmell. Mrs, Charles
Eyre demonstrated how to decor-
ate a Christmas cake. Donna
Whitehouse, Mary Ellen and
Monty Plumb gave recitations and
a period of carol singing was en-
joyed,
Members brought gifts to the
meeting to be forwarded to the
Children's Shelter at Goderich, and
also exchanged gifts. A. euchre
and dance will be held in Hensall
in January.

their Christmas meeting at the
home of Mrs. Elmer Dale. The,
president, Mrs. 'Jack Smith, oc-
eupied the chair. Roll call "What

It was decided to donate $10"
to the TB fund: Next meeting,
each member is asked to bring a
crazy quilt block of pant, 18" X.
20". They are also asked to bring
more donations for the bale.
