To Turkey Dinner"
The Ladies Conservation Club
'held their Christmas p'arty, on
Tuesday evening. 60 guests were
served a turkey dinner. Santa
Claus passed out gifts to each
member and winners of the raffle
were Mrs. Robert Carter, a panda
bear; Mrs, Fred McDonald, a tur-
key; Mrs, Dorothy Mutch, Christ-
mas cake. The remainder of the
evening, was spent in cards and
dancing.

Saturday evening at the home
of the groom's parents a wedding
reception wag' held when about
50 relatives and friends gathered
to extend best wishes to the bride
arid groom and tQ spend a•social
time. An uncle of the groom
was toastmaster and during this •) time read. telegram :from the
bride's, parents in. Clinton.
A buffet luncheon was served
from a table beautifully decorated
and centred with a three-storied
Wedding cake. The bride and
groom were assisted in receiving
the guests by the groom's parents
arid an. uncle and aunt. Many
'beautiful gifts veM received by
the bride and groom. They will
later reside in Cornox, B.C., where
the groom IS stationed,:

was solemnized at Hensall United
Church manse, Saturday, Decem-
ber 8, at 3 p.m., when Rev. C. D.
Daniel united in marriage, Gloria
SWanson White; Seaforth, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene
Smith, Nova Scotia, and Earl
Ralph Soldan, son of Mr, and Mrs.
William Soldan, Hensel'.
The attendants were Miss Don-

A reception was held at the
home of the groom's parents.
Upon their return from their
wedding trip in the United States,
Mr. and Mrs. Soldan will reside
in Seaforth, where the bride is on
the staff of Scott Memorial Hos-
pital there.

dent, MrS, Bella Holmes, in 'tie
chair, and Mrs. E. Radford at the
piano, Christmas hymns were

'Sly reported two bales of clothing
having been packed and shipped,
one to Korea, one to Toronto.
Mrs. E, Radford played a piano
solo. Mrs, Eagle gave• two very
fine readings', both appropriate for
the Christmas season.
The worship service was taken
by Miss Sybil Cour'ticei with the
theme "Love" and centred around
the verse, "God so loved the Wor-
ld," stressing the fact that."Christ-
ma.s should be,1 /4nnich more than a
day of gift giving and feasting,
and we should keep the light and
love, of Christmas+ time in our
hearts and biomes throughout the
year."
A very beautiful candle lighting
service was conducted by Mrs. M.
Wiltse, with Mrs. N. Carter sing-
ing, "0 Cane All Ye Faithful"
and Mrs. D. Carter, Mrs. Jamies-
on, Mrs. Lavis, Mrs. Dale,"Mrs. M.
Chet", and Mrs. S. Schoenhals as-
sisting in the candle-lighting.
Miss E. Wiltse and Mrs. J.
McKnight sang two diietts. Mrs.
.Aiken, closed -the service with
prayer, A. lighted Christmas tree
