Made At Bazaar
The' December meeting of the
Catholic Women's League was
presided over by Mrs. Van Altena
in the parish hall, Monday, Dec-
ember 3. Following the League
prayer, the visiting committee re-
ported five calls made.
The treasurer's report on the
recent bazaar held in the hall,
showed a profit of over $200. Mrs.
Lloyd Medd was the winner of
the mystery prize. Donations
were made to the County Home,
the radio program "School of
Christ," and the veterans' fund
Lunch was served.
The° next meeting will be held,
on March 4, 1957. Visiting com-
mittee for the next month will be
Mrs. D. Managhan, Mrs. Medd
and. Mrs, 3. McGuire,

Missions Night

At a joint meeting of the Wo-
man's Missionary Society and
Arnold Circle of Carmel Presby-:
terian Church, Hensall, Novemb-
er 22, Bayfield, Goderich, Seafor-
th and Clinton were invited
guest e, Mrs. S, Dougall and Mrs.
Mary Hildebrandt, presidents of
the societies chaired the meeting.
The groups were addressed by
Miss Gallen, a missionary on fur-
lough from Nigeria, who gave a
most informative and interesting
talk on the people of Nigeria,
their customs, government and
church, and conducted a question-
aire. Her talk was enhanced with
a display of various articles from
Nigeria. Miss Gollan who returns
to Nigeria in February was in-
troduced by Mrs. MacDonald and
thanked 'by Mrs. William Brown.
Scripture readings by Mrs. Har-
ry Hoy, prayer by Mrs. Inez Mc.
Ewan, piano solo, Mrs. E. Munn,
and a quartette composed of Mrs.
H. Bell, Mrs. H. Hoy, Mrs, A.
Kerslake, Mrs. Brown, completed
the peagram.

annual meeting last Wednesday
at the home of Mrs, John Grigg,
with 20 ladies present. Following

Served tea at the' cattle sale,
Mrs, Dutot gave the Dorcas re-
port' and Mrs. john Grigg repor-•
:tea for the card Committee, Mrs.
O. Cole reported for the birthday
box. All these showed a =MS,
ful year.
The WA will give $a1.30 to the
Church extension fund, making a
total of 6151,30 paid there this
year, $50 will go towards . the
purchase of 20 folding chairs.
A*Vote of thanks and a sum of
money is to be paid to the faithful
organists and fireman, Mrs. R.
Rowden, Mrs, John Middleton and
Donald Middleton.
The president thanked all mem-
bers for their wonderful co-oper-
ation during 1956. The Rev. W.
S. Qaterbridge conducted the el-
ection of officers, and the report
of the noreinating'committee was

with prayer and lunch was .served.
Twenty-five members of the
Sunday School executive of Ontar-
io Street United' Church and their
husbands and wives enjoyed a
turkey supper before the meeting
on December 6. Robert Elliott,
superintendent, presided for the
business meeting which followed.
White gift service was planned
for December 9, with Mrs.
Schoenhals and Mrs. M. Batkin
looking after baskets. Mrs, Ell-
iott, Mrs. Habkirk, Mr. Stewart
and J. Levis were to pack them
for the Fred Victor Mission,
On December 17, at the Christ-
mas concert, R. Elliott, R. Mer-
rill, B. Olde and Mrs. A, G. Eagle
will look after the lighting. Miss
Olive Johnson is looking after the
arrangements of program.
Mr. Elliott thanked the teach-
ers and officers, and Rev. A. G,
Eagle conducted the election of
officers and teachers. for 1957:
