Will Raffle Doll
The, regular monthly meeting of
the Women's Auxiliary of RCAF
Station Clinton, was held op Mon-
day evening in the Ritchie Build-
ing with Mrs. S. A. Brightwell in
the chair.
'The minutes were read by the
secretary Mrs. D. 3. Hatherall and
the treasurer's report by Mrs. H.
C, Easton. '
To Raffle Doll
It was . decided to purchase • a
piano for use of the Guides,
BroWnies, Cubs and Scouts. and
other organizations who , use the
Ritchie Building. A,24 inch blonde
walking doll with a wardrobe
made 4by the Women's Auxiliary
is to, beraffled -off at the Christ-
mas meeting, The 'proceeds are tg
go toward the purchase of the
piano. Lovett's Specialty Slibp
has kindly consented to - display
the doll in their store window.
After the meeting a penny sale
was held and• the quilt made by
the ladies of the County Home
was raffled. Mrs. F. Fingland
drew the winning ticket held by
Doris Johnston : of the County
Home. An amount of $65,65 was
taken in on the quilt and this mon-
ey will be given, to the ladies of
the County Home. The Women's
Auxiliary wish to thank Irwin's
Ladies Wear for displaying, the
quilt.

legislation for equal pay for equal

Referring to' the bill Mrs. Fair-
elough remarked there has been
a great deal of controversy over
it and added "with the passing of
this legislation at Federal level it
means all workers in five prov-
inces in Canada and those who
are under Federal jurisdiction
now qualify fqr equal pay,"
Mrs. Fairelougle expressed her
delight at the large number of per-
sons present indicating the eptinis-
lesxn for Conservatives in tills dis-
trict, She said she felt like brag-
ging about the paity, when she
though about Nova Scotia. In that
province, she stated, only a -few
years ago there were no conserva-
tive, membere. Last week Bob
Stanfield defeated a government
that had. been, in power there for
23 years.
Mrs. Faieclougb said that in los-

sented the treasurer's statement.
' Mra. I. McIntyre reporting for
drapes said that the. material had
been purchased and Was now be-
ing made up for the new building.

ted to $487.70, $40 over last year's

Hensall, was the scene. of a happy
event on November 2, when 125
members and friends attended a
reception held' in honor of their-
minister, Rev. Donald MacDonald,
and Mrs. MacDonald. Mrs. Mac-
Donald recently arrived from Nor-
thern Ireland and their wedding
took place since then,
Glenn Bell, clerk of the session,
was chairman for the program,
consisting of the following num-
bers: quartet, Mrs. john Love,
James Love, Mrs. Malcohh Doug-
all, James -Dougall;. a Scottish
reading by Mrs. Robert Simpson;
piano solo, Miss Carol Brown; singe
song "My Wild Irish, Rose; "duet by
Mrs. W. Brown and Mrs. H. Bell,
"Bells of St. Marys"; reading,
"The Wedding," Mrs, R, Y. Mc-
Laren; sing-song "When Irish'Eyes
are Smiling;" solo, "Perfect -Day,"
Mrs. Brawn.

tation address to Mr. and Mrs.
MacDonald and presented them
with a floor lamp and desk lamp.
Rev. MacDonald replied expressing
his thanks. Guest speakers were

cania for a six months' visit to
England., Mrs. Nice is returning
to her home for the first time hi

Miss Sinclair, Mrs. Haddy, Mrs.
Fred Thompson and Mrs. Harry
Ball were named to select furniture
for the new wing of the hospital.
Mrs. iladdy gave a concise-re-
„port of two ,days' spent at„ the On-
tario Hospital Association conven-
tion held in Toronto. Through this
organization $72,000 was expended
-in a range of projects in which the
money was used aS widespread as
the needs of local hospitals.
Mrs. Frank Fingland was named
convener of the nominating com-
mittee.
At the close of the meeting, Mrs.
Lillian MacKinnon poured tea with
Miss Sinclair assisting. and Mrs.
Fingland as hostess.

Here Prepares
For Seals Sale
A meetieg of the Huron District
Council NO: 5 ,or the Ontario Soc-
iety for criippled•Children was held
iii the town hall here last Thurs-
day evening, with L. P. Wheatley,
St, Marys, as chairahan. Plans are
already being laid for the sale of
Easter Seals in aid of the crippled
youngsters of the province.
Tlie campaign iS'- conducted,
through a committee of the 'Lions
Club here in Clinton, in the charge
of Reg. Ball and Melva Crich. Half
of the money collected locally is
used locally and the balance is
sent to head office forere-distribu-
lion. If the ideal club runs Short
of money for the purpose, it is
able to call' upon the head' office
fund for assistance.
Attending the meeting were re-
presentatives from service clubs in
the (Abet centres of the County.

Maurice is moving next week to
the Mark Twaib Hotel in Elinira,

For several days recently, Gor-
don. Cuninghame with his broth-
ers-in-law, Roy East and Carl
East, Toronto and Edgat East,
Windsor, enjoyed their annual out-
ing at the Nimrod 'Cable', Bale-
de-dore. They met in- Clinton 'Where
they were the guests of their sis-
ter, Mrs. Gordon Cuninghame.

sang in the Wesley-Willis Choir.
Re has since gone blind, and is
now training as -a field' secretary
for the Q.N.I.B. He .spoke on var-
ious activities, in which the blind
'can share, and greatly interested
the men with the showing of sev-
eral things that blind' people can
use such as a deck of cards, a crib
board, a chess board and men, a
wrist ' watch, an alarm clock, a
braille slate, dominoes, and a book
written in braille,. Mr. Davie.

The Woman's Association of
Wesley-Willis United Church met
on Tuesday, October 30, with a
good attendance, The theme • of
the meeting, which opened with
the theme hymn, was "perfect
trust and perfect peace." -
The devotion' period was in
charge of Mrs. A. Shaddick. Mrs.
James Melearen and Mrs. C. Nel-
son. The secretary, Mrs. M.
Steep read the Minutes. And the
treasurer gave a resume of the
finances.
The president, Mrs. F. Aftdrews
gave, a splendid eeport of the
Country Fair, which was most
gratifying. Mrs. M. Steepe was
appointed delegate to the Huron
Presbytery W. A. Rally to be held
in Goshen Church on November 1.
