ity Church met at the lime of

last.
The rector, the Rev, W. S. Out-
erbridge, conducted the opening
prayers and litany. Mrs. R. H. F.
Gairdner who presided, led in the
WA prayer. Mrs. C, Knuckey read
the scripture lesson,
Following the business session,
plans were completed for the semi-
annual meeting, of the Deanery of
Huron to be held 'in Trinity Chur-
ch on Wednesday afternoon, Octo-
ber 24. The ladies of the three
churches connected with this• par-
ish will be the hostesses. •
Mrs. R. 3. Larson displayed the
MS.C.C. Calendar for 1957, and
beside the objective of placing one
in every church home, it -was poin-
ted out that they Made nice Christ-
mas gifts.
A letter 'from Mrs. George King
to Miss Lucy R:I.WoOds was read.
Two little ones, Lee Anne Mc-
Leod and Peter Outerbridge were
present.

ience 'Ilse Centennial Fair 'Night
concert was repeated. in the Town
fall on Thursday evening last.
Owing to variouscircumstances, it
was impossible. to. repeat some
numbers in that .part representing
the last '.50 years. • And for the
little folk's sake the program was
rearranged, and.it was given first.

Docks 'Up
The Boat Club loading ramp and
docks at Alfred Scotchmer's park
have been taken up for the win-
ter. 'Ed Parigracz, Grosse Pointe,
one of the members, was up last
(weekend. He stated that he had
a good catch of perch, one of the
largest in the season. And, he felt
that this year had been the best
for game fishing out of Bayfield
that he had experienced.

Congratulations go to Mrs.
Doris Nicholls; daughter of Mrs.
Fred Merwen, Bayfield. She
was the only woman in five
upon whom the Degree of .Doc-
tor of Philosophy was conferred
at convocation at the University
of Western Ontario on Friday.
Doris received it for her work
in biochemistry. She was hood-
ed by her husband, Dr. R. W.
Nicholls, profeSsor of physics.

dent. The players responded to.
the warmth of the audience and
drew many mare laughs than when
