=a Redmen firmly establiSb-
ed themselves in second place in
the Huron Secondary Schools As-
sociation football league with a
convincing 24-8 win over Seaforth
yesterday afternoon in Seaforth,
The tribe' scored in each quarter
with touchdowns going to Bob
Williams, Tom Cunningham, Howie
Armstrong. and Bruce Lebb. ;Sea-
forth's lone TD was scored, by Rpn
Scoins, Ron Ennis was credited
with, two points for a safety touch
when Howie Armstrong was traP-
ped in the end zone.
Clinton broke cut in front in the
first quarter on a touchdown by
Bob Williams. The play developed
when Seaforth were forced to kick
from 'behind their goal line; The
kick. was blocked and Williams
ppoolunntcsed on the'ball for the six
In the second quarter Clinton
drove deep into Seaforth territory
before Tom Cunningham crashed
through tackle and went 20 yards
for the touchdown. Clinton led
12-0 at half time, •
Seaforth tried desperately to get
back into striking distance early
in the second half and their ef-
forts, were rewarded when Ron
Scoins grabbed a short pass in the
end zone to make the score- 12-6.
Moments later Howie Armstrong
amazed the cro'wd' by charging
through the centre of the Seaforth
line to go 85 yards for Clinton's
third touchdown,
Bruce Lobb brought Clinton's
total to 24 driving from the four
yard line for the major score.
The only flaw in the game from
Clinton's viewpoint was the failure
of the kickers' to convert the
touchdowns.' This is an easy extra
point that in a close game can
mean, the difference between vic-
tory and defeat. 's
