Mrsii Yates Speak The Alitumn Thankoffering of the Wontan's Missionary Society of Wesley-Willis 'United Church was held last Thursday in the thumb half'with a large attend- ance, The president, Mrs. Charles Nelson presided for the worship service using a Thanksgiving hymn and poem to open the "fleeting,. Mrs. Margaret Addison offered „prayer and Miss Esther Jamieson read the Scripture, Special music of the evening was i. supplied by a ladies' quartette, Mrs. ormati Shepherd, Mrs. Wesley Holland, Mrs. Douglas An- drews and Mrs. Benson Sutter ac- ceropanied .by pianist Mrs. Ray Vincent, They sang,. "Beautiful Bible" and "There Shall be. Sow- ers! Of Ble'ssing." The special speaker was Mrs, Paul Yates who with, her doctor husband and two small sons, is home on furlough from Nigeria. Mrs. Yates •- spoke . of how the beauty of this country impressed, itself on her and made her feel the vast contrast b etween Africa aind Canada, in so 'many ways-the country-the dress - the. homes.- greatest contrast of all is the transformation which a heathen native everiences when he is cop- vented to Christianity. She told ihe ladies of many in- teresting individual problems and highlights of their work, and life showing colored -pitcures which were greatly .enjoyed„. Mrs, Warren died Saturday, Oct- ober 6, at Wellesley Hospital, To- ronto. Born in Toronto, she spent her childhood in Clinton.
