Sees Variety Good EXhibits was a very small attendance, Mrs, Verne Dale presided for the WA and asked the ladies to her home on Wednesday afternoon, Septem- ber 26 for a sale of miscellaneous articles. Alvin. Dodds and Wile Lawson were appointed ushers for the ser- vices on Sunday. A decorating committee of Mrs. George Addison, Mrs. Kenneth HulleY: Mrs. Frank Riley and Mrs, W. Whyte to de- corate the church. Anyone having flowers could bring them to the church on Saturday, Mrs, W. S. Whyte, 'group leader presided for the WMS. Mrs, Verne Dale gave the Scripture lesson, followed by prayer by Mrs. William Jewitt, Mrs. Borden Brown gave the Stewardship paper and Mrs, Whyte the study book. Cards of thanks were read from Mrs. Babcock and Grace -and Bob Woods for gifts. lyfrs. Frank Riley and Mrs. Verne Dale were appointed delegates to the sectional meeting in Brucefielcl on October 4. An invitation from Nortiiside WIMS, Seaforth, to be their guests on Tuesday evening, 55eptember 25, was accepted and also one from Winthrop for Wed- nesday afternoon, October 3. NicNan4, ton, chairman of the school board on Friday eveuing, $epternber 14, .with the largest attendance in years. Reeve N. Jones ,gave the address of welcome; and C. W , Montgomery, agricultural repre- sentative for Buren County, spoke. There were more than 600 ent- ries in the fair,, a substantial crease .over last year. Exhibits of ftuit, roots, vegetables, poultry, eggs, grain and hogs, and other livestock, crafts and 'arts were described as excellent by fair of- ficials, with a wonderful exhibit _ of flowers. • A school, parade was headed by the Bannockburn Pipe Band, of Clinton and Varna, Taking part were '.1.1ensall "Pnblic School and school sections one, two 'and ten, Tuckersmith; SS 7, Hibbert; and SS 10, Hay. Judges were: grain, H. H. G. Strang; roots, vegetables and fruit, W. McKenzie; -poultry and eggs, L. O'Brien; livestock and pets, agricultural representative; flowers, Mrs. C, H. Epps, Clinton; crafts, G. Trott. A contest in conjunction -with the fair will be held in ,Hensall town hall on October 8. Mr. H. H.
