Swim Pool By
Ladies Auxiliary
The Ladies' Aupxiliary to the
Canadian Legion, Clinton Branch,
will give $250 towards the Clinton
Community Swimming pool Fund,
according to decision reached at
the regular meeting of the Auxil-
iary ..held on Monday, evening.
President Mrs. K, C. Cooke, was in
charge of the meeting.
Other plans of the auxiliary in-
clude a dance from which pro-
ceede are to be channeled towards
the new swimming pool fund, The
date is September 2$.
The meeting draw was won by
Mrs. Alex Inkley.
Two new members were instal-
led: Mrs. Gordon Herman and Mrs.
Maynard Corrie.
The president requested the
members to suppoet the current
selling project, Further details of
this may belied from any member
of the executive. •
Following the meeting, lunch
was served by Mrs. Habgood's
group.

duet, -"An 'Evening Prayer" was
played by Mrs; 'C. McBride and
Mrs. W, Taylor, and the anthem
was entitled "Abide With Me."

Their first meeting of the year,
held on Tuesday evening at the
home of the immediate past presi-
dent, Mrs. Jack Clegg, saw the
new executive for 1956-57 take
over under, the leadership of in-
coming. president Mrs, Gordon
Grigg.
It was decided to mark the
club's anniversary night -with a
special dinner meeting to be held
in London on Tuesday, September
25.
An indefinite leave of absence
was granted to Kinette Alice
Rthnhall because of ill health, Mrs,
Donald Colquhoun volunteered to
retain the Post" of registrar for
another year.
The time of meeting was thor-
oughly discussed and the time was
advanced from' the customary 8.15
to 9,00 p.m.
The raffle was won by Mrs.
Gordon Grigg.

TO, BEGIN FALL MEETINGS
The auxiliary to the Boy Scouts
and Cubs of Clinton, will begin
their fall and winter meetings at
the home of Mrs. Reg Smith on
September 20, 'at 2.30 p.m. Any
mother-of a Scout or Cub is wel-
come.
Mr, and Mrs. Norman Carter
and Mrs. Len Evans motored to
Toronto and spent several days
with Mr. and Mrs. Hiles Carter
and family, and while there at-
tended the CNE, returning via
Lucknow where they visited Mr.
and Mrs, Oliver MoCharles and
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Brooks.

To Hospital
Begins Season
The Clinton Hospital Auxiliary
met in the Nurses' Residence on
Monday. The president, Mrs. Alex
Haddy opened the meeting, by a
repetition of the Lord's prayer and
called on Mrs. Les Rathburn, sec-
retary and Mrs. A. J. McMurray
for the treasurer's statement.
Mrs. D. J. Lane was appointed
press secretary succeeding Mrs.
Clarence Trott.
The sewing convener' Mrs. B. A.
McIntyre and Mrs. Fred Thomp-
son buying convener and• their
committees will make the drapes
for the new wing -of the hospital.
Ten -dollars was voted to the
Jessie Grainger Memorial Fund
for furnishing the waiting room at
the Clinton Hospital.
Mrs. Haddy' was named, to at-
tend the Hospital Auxiliaries As-
sociation of Ontario meeting to be
held in Toronto in October.
Mrs. W. L. Morlok distributed
'tickets for the Penny Sale to be
held on October 13, and Mrs. Les
Rathhtirn reported that prizes for
sable were to be solicited.
Mrs. Haddy was tea hostess with
Mrs. Raithburn pouring.
