ned, Budd Boyes cracked a double

.Clinton horses did not come out
on top at .the harnes,s.,races in
Goderich on Labour Day but they
did 'get in the money.
Tornado Lee, owned by the El-
liott and Little stable picked' up
third place money in the race for
three year olds with a third and
a seeond.
Betty Jane Brooks, George Ger-
man's Tnare also took third in the
free-for-all, finishing third and
fourth. Salty .1VIcKillon, another
German entry, finished eighth and
fifth in the 2.30 pace, to be out
ofthe money.
Two,.Car -Crash
On Albert Street
two,•car collision occurred on
Main Street here early Wednesday
morning, when a cardriyert by
John M. Mliott, Victoria -Street
proceeding north on Albert Street,
was in collision with a car driven
by Joseph Storey, RR, 3, Clinton,
which had keen going east on
Rattenbury Street. Damage was
estimated by Chief H. R. Thomp-
son at $300 to both cars. No one
was injured. •

At Hensall -
Names Winners
The horseshoe pitching contest
at the Hensel Bean Fpstival drew
a great amount of attention. Win-
ners of the event,..were Fred Har-
burn, Staiffa, with 123 points; Jack

BlackMan, Toronto, 108.
Each man pitched 50 shoes ni
the qualifying round for a possible

meeting was held at the Mclienzio
farm, About ,50 growers and their
wives met at the Exeter arena
and, then went to view the oreh-
ards. Since Exeter area has bad
rain as in other places, a tqnr of
the orchard could not be made.
For the meeting in the arena the
president, Fraser Stirling, called

Goderich Court
Mrs; Rebecca McAllister, De-
troit, was fined $30 and costs in
Goderich police court, when she
was charged with careless driving.'

Atthe Kippen Trap Shoot held
at Kippen on: Labour Day, Charles
Parkinson, London, broke 95 out
of 100 during the 16 yard targets
in the 50_ bird handicap for the
Kippen Trophy.
Jack Burns, WoOdstock, was
high with 45 on the 50 targets.
Parkinson' was high with 140 out
of the possible.. Shooters were
present from Kitchener, Wood-
stock, -London, Chatham, St.
Thomas and Goderich.

Two Car Crash
Seven-year-old Paul Deer, RR 1,
Auburn, .was taken to, Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital, God-
erich, last Thursday night, suf-
fering from cut, head and internal
injuries received in a two -car col-
lision about a Mile east of Auburn.
He is the sett of Mr. and MrS,
Clarence Daer, .R,11. 1, Auburn, The
boy was involved in a head-on
collision with cars • driven by Ed.
gar Daer and Kenneth Glouscher,
There were five other persons' in
the Daer car, all uninjured; D.

a. °comforting state of affairs as
far as tuberculosis is concerned in
the , County, Mrs, Russell warns
against this attitude, "There must
be wore TB in the country than
thar she says. "It is just that
those who are afraid they have it
are afraid to t ome out for an x-
ray. And. they will continue to
spread it among the healthy people

Unit has announced the appoint-
ment oft James Pinder as resident
sanitary inspector in South Huron.

$1,000 Damage On
Highway Eight
About $1,000 total damage was
done to a ,car and truck which
collided on. August 25 at an inter-
section on Highway 8 about one
mile east of Hohnesville. No one
was injured.

investigated, said the truck was
being driven; by Arnold Lamb, RR
4, Goderich, when in collision with
the car driven by He -C. Durnford,

Garry Staniforth was fined $50
and costs in magistrate's court
here on Tuesday morning when he
pleaded guilty to a charge of dis-
tnxtbingi occupants of a residence
by disorderly conduct. With de-
fence ,counsel Frank Donnelly act-
ing for him, $taniforth's charge
was reduced from that of breaking.,
and entering.
The court postponed a charge of
careless driving against Bert
Boyes, Clinton, until %October 2.
Boyes was involved in an accident
on 'Victoria Street, August 12,
when a young Clinton airman was
hospitalized for five days.
