The following year he entered', the service of the G,T,R. as assist- ant clerk at Clinton and• was pre- raoted. to signalman Sri September, 7,A, year later ,he became telegraph- er at Sarnia and then jo5ied the CPR at London on June 4, 1909, After worting at Woodstock, Guelph, Galt.. and Streetsville Junction, he was transferred to Saskatoon in 1912 and has worked in the province of Saskatchewan ever since. As.he put his hand on the ignit- ion the fuel "pump ignited and he, was thrown into the water, De,. spite' his injuries he swam to the, dock.
