bought a tract of land close to
and along the banks of the -.Mait-
land River and built a saw and
grist mill which was patronized by
the community for a number of
years,
"This country was heavily timb-
ered and there was plenty of wild
frialt along the banks of the river
and good fishing and wild game of
different kinds. Wolves were num-
erous and a cause of much annoy-
ance to the settlers with their
young stock add many a time I
have sat and listened in amaze-
ment to the stories my -father and
others would tell of personal en-

•farm to Abraham Jackson and
moved with his family to Ellis,
Kansas, and purchas'ed 320 acres
of railroad land."

Rallbearerk Were six sons, Frank,
Robert, Dr. Charles, Donald, ,Dr.
Wilbert and Eric McIlveen.
He. was a son of the , late" Mr.
and Mrs. F. Mcllveen, Clinton,
and spent his early life there,
After his marriage to the former
Gertrude Asquith, Auburn, they
lived' at Watford, where he was
mariage'Vof the Bank of Montreal.
Later he was manager at- Am--
prior, Lansdowne and , for years
was manager at Bo.wmanville
where he retired from the bank
eight 'years .ago.
He was a member of Knox Pres-
byterian Church, and for years
was a member of the- Bowmanville
choir, served on the board of man-
agers and was church treasurer.
He was a past master of Watford'
Masonic Lodge, and a member of
Bownianville Masonic Lodge.
'Surviving besides his wife, are
six sons, 'Robert, GuelPhi; Frank,
Dr. Charles and Donald, Oshawa;
Dr. Gilbert, Ajax; Eric, 'Wood-
stock, and 14 grandchildren. ,

McCall Reunion .
Word has been received from
Wolseley, Sask„ of the McCall-.Re-
union, held at the home of William
McCall, Wolseley, on Sunday, Au-
gust 12, to honour Mrs. Charles
Riley (nee Mamie McCall) Con-
stance, who w,a's making her first
visit \berne in 38 years,
Mrs. Riley,- who was for years
correspondent in ;the Constance
area for this paper, is spending
some time visiting in the West.
Some 35 pleas attended church
in the morning and had dinner to-
gether at noon, 'when Mamie ex-
pressed her gratitude in being
honoured •by her mother, sisters
and, brothers at such a gathering.
Her guest book, presented to her
by, her brother, William McCall,
was signed by all present.
Guests- attended from Indian
Head, Regina, Moose Jaw, Can-
diac, Creelman, Lemberg, Mont-
martre, Greenan, Wolseley, Sask.
All of the ,family were present
except Mrs. William Whitehead,
New WeStminister, B.C.
