The seed marketing and public-
ity committee, Ontario- Soil and
Crop Improvement Association-,
has suggested the following rec-
ommended minimum prices for
seed used in fall seed for 1956.
Fall *Wheat: registered No. 1
grade, •$2.50 per bushel; certified
No. 1 grade, $2.25 ,per bushel;
commercial No. 1 grade, $2.10 per
bushel.
Rye: commercial No. 1 (Tetra
Petkus variety)» $250 per bushel;
commercial No, 1 (other variet-
ies), $1.75 per bushel.
Winter barley: certified No. 1,
$2.50 per bushel; commercial No.
3., $2 per bushel.
These, prices are for treated
4'eed, with new bags included, re-
tail at farm or F.O.B. shipping
point.
The committee points out that
the above suggested' prices are
practically the same as last .year,
although prices for milling Wheat
"are-edhSider -ably'Vik-Welhose of
a year ago. It is, therefore, the
hope of the committee that their
recommendations , for prce will
,stimulate an increased der#and for
registered and certified grades.
There is cOnsidMable interest in
winter • barley (particularly • 6i Kenate and Hudson yariettes);:al-
