The mother of a prominent Hay-
field businessman, Men -Marion
Francis succumbed to a heart" at-
tack at seven am, on August If,
1956, in ,Clinton Publie Hospital.
She had been ill only ten hours.
Formerly Miss' Marion Glidden,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses
Glidden, she was born in Sher-
brooke, Quebec, nVlarch 24, 1878,
She was married,
-to Joshua Fran-
eigewhe, predeceased her in 1932.
She came to Bayfield eight
years ago to occupy the home
which her son had. provided on his
property. Previous to this she
had- lived in Bennington and Agin-
court, Ontario, and Granby, Que-
bec.
. Mrs. Francis was •an Anglican
and a member of. Trinity Church
Hayfield.
She &a survived by one son,
Thomas Reginald Francis And
three grandchildren James, Lloyd
and Marion.
The nuteral was held on Aug-
ust 13, from the Ball and Mutch
funeral home, Clinton. Rev. W.
S. Outeriefidge conducted the ser-
vice. The cortege left for Embro
Cemetery where interment took
place. Pall -bearers were Leslie
Elliott, Spencer Ervine, Grant
Turner, Arnold Makins, William
McIewain, and Wilfred Castle.
