length veil was held by a nylon
cap and she carried a houquet of
red. roses With streamers . caught
with baby .'mums.
Miss Frances Cook, cousin of
the 'bride; as maid of honour wore
a blue strapless ballerina-length
gown of lace and net over taffeta
with headdress..., of blue. nylon
pleated tulle trimmed with se;
quirts-. amo, she carried a bouquet • • - • of yellow
'Mrs. Robert Straughan and Mrs.
Wilfred Gliders, bridesmaids wore
identical gowns of pink strapless
ballerina-length gowns of lace and
net over taffeta with matching bol-
eros and headdresses and they car-
ried, 'bouquets of white 'mums.
The little flower girl, Debbie.
Rodgers, St. Catherines, cousin of
the bride, was charming. in an
ankle-length. gown of+ .she'er white
nylon, patterned 'with tiny rose-
buds over pink taffeta -and car-
ried a nosegay of yellow 'mums.
Clare "Rodger, brother of the bride
was ring bearer,
Robert - Straughan, Goderich,
was grecensinan, and ushers were
Keith Rodger, brother of,, the
bride and Wilfred Gliders, Goder-
ich.
• A reception was held at Tiger
Dunlop Inn where the bride's
mother.. received wearing -a gown
of brocaded figured nylon with.
panama accessories and 'a 'corsage
of sellow rosebud's. She was as-
sisted by the groom's mother whe
wore a gown of blue crepe with
white accessories and a corsage
of pink. rosebuds.
For a wedding trip the bride
chose a pink and charcoal figured
dress with matching pink /duster,
black:picture hat, black aCcessor-
'S .and a corsage of 'White' carna-
tions.
Following their wedding trip -to
Banff, Alta.,- the couple will reside
in. Goderieh.
Guests were ,present from LOn-
-desiboro, Goderich, Aylmer, . To-
ronto, St. -Catherines, Exeter and.
Westfield.

St. Andrew's. United Church,
Bayfield, artistically- decorated
with baskets ,of white Shasta dais-
ies, pink roses and gysophila was
the scene of a very pretty wed-
ding on Saturday afternoon; Aug-
Ost 4, at one o'clock, when Anna
Elizabeth Porter, eldest daughter
of Elgin Porter and the late
Sarah E. Porter, Bayfield Conces-
tirion Road, Stanley Township, be-
came the bride of Rohert.John
Rayrnond Sootchrner, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Scotchmer, Jr.,
Blue Water Highway, Stanley
Township.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the 'bride was beautiful in a
floor-length strapless gown. The
crinolined shirt was of net with
lace applique panels, over ruffled
rfet and satin underskirts. The
fnediee Was of lace. and the lace
jadket was fashioned• with a small
rounded collar edged with seed
pears, and irredescent. sequins,
and long lily-point sleeves.
Her shoulder-length veil of silk
Illusion •fell *from, a tiara set with
iirridescent sequins and seed pearl
and she carried the groom's gift,
a white . bible, crested With red
roses.

Her floor-length gown in aqua had
a lace bodice and lace panelling
on the tiered ruffled net skirt.
She wore matching gloves and
pink velvet flowers in her hair,
'Her bouquet was of yellow carna-
tionS.
The junior bridesmaids, Mar-
garet and Kathleen Porter, sisters
of the bride, were attired' alike
in waltz-length dresses of rose
crystal charm with full gored
skirts and long velvet bows at the
V-shaped neckline of the bodice.
They- carried pale and white car-
nations and baby 'mums.
-Flower girls, Marion Porter and
Lynnda Scotchmer, sister of ~ the
bride and groom, were similarly
attired in frocks of pale pink
crystal charm and carried nose-
gays of ‘pink and white carnations
and baby 'mums.
The junior bridesmaids and
flower girls wore bands of pink
velvet flowers in their hair and
pearl necklaces.
Robert Talbot ,was groomsman.
The ushers were Gordon Porter,
brother of the bride, and Ronald
Scotchmer, brother of the groom.
Mrs. D. Kingsbury played the
wedding music and 'accompanied
Miss Clara Clark, Varna, who
sang "9 Perfect -Love," and "Be-
cause". •
For the reception which follow-
ed in the church parlours, the
grandmother of the bride, Mrs.
William Reid, wore a navy silk
dress, nayy and, pink accessories,
and a corsage of pink 'carnations:
The groom's mother • chose dawn
blue with pink accessories and a
corsage of pink carnations.
The theme of decoration for the
wedding repast was pink and
white. The tables were done in
White damask with small-bouquets
of summer flowers.
The bride's table centered with
the three-tiered wedding cake had
,loops of pink /streamers caught
with sweet peas 'in, pastel-shades
and white bells hung over the
bride and groom.
Guests Were present from Wind-
sor, London, Guelph, Thedforcl,
Goderich, Clinton and Bayfield.
For travelling, the bride wore
a pale blue dress, beige, linen dus-
ter with white ,accessories, and a
corsage of red roses.
On their return froin a li6ney-
moon trip, "Mr. and Mrs, Scotch-
tiler will reside in Bayfield.
