Vacation Bible School
The Daily Vacation Bible School.
started on Monday and will con,
tinue until Saturday with the
closing exercises being held in
Knox Presbyterian Church on
Sunday evening. The opening ex-
ercises were held in Knox Pres-
byterian Church with the Rev. D.
J. Lane in charge. Following the.
opening . exercises the school is
divided into four groups with two
meeting in' the Baptist and two
in the Presbyterian churches.
The pre-school- department is

The Township of Goderich at
last week's council meeting agreed
to accept the terms offered by the
town of Clinton regarding fire
fighting protection for the town,
ship. On and after July 15, a
standing fee of $100 will be paid
per year, plus $75 •per hour for
tilt. first hour at each fire, plus
$25 per hour for each hour follow,
ing that,
Up until now there has been no
retaining fee to the Clinton Fire
Department by the surrounding
townships, but calls have been paid
for at the rate of $75 an hour the
first hour' and $25 per hour for
each following hour. Both Hullett
and TLlckersmith Townships have
agreed to the new rates. The
standing fee of $50 per year will
be paid by the Huron. County

Hensall Relatives

Mrs. Robert Lippert, 31, wife of
Dr. Robert Lippert, of the Mayo
Clinic, at Rochester, Minin„ was
killed in a freak plane accident
Monday, when a propeller flew off
a four-engine Trans-Canada .Air
Line Plane while it was in flight,
Parts of the propeller tore into
the 'fuselage; killing Mrs. Lippert.
She is the - daughter of• Mrs.
Norman Peppier, Hanover (a for-
mer resident of Hensall) an is a
niece of Mrs.„. James W.,Banthron,
cousin of Harold Bonthron, Hen-
sail; and cousin of Mrs. Mac Greer,
London,
Mrs. Lippert had been on her
way to spend a Month's vacation
with her mother at Southampton.
Her two sons, Robbie, three years
and Richard, 14 months, were ad-
mitted to hospital suffering shock.
Goderich Township Connell has
hired • McGee to cut weeds in
the township at $2 per hour. Mr.
McGee's tender was one of four

charge of the meeting which open-
ed with a hymn with Mrs. F. Nes-
bit at the piano.
Prayers were led by Mrs. Thom-
as Haggitt and Mrs. Ed. Davies
read the Scripture. Mrs. Frank
Nesbit favoured the meeting with
a piano solo,
Mrs. Kirkconnel gave the topic
on "The Bible in the Homo." A
reading by Mrs. John Daer entit-
led "God's Bank is' not Broken
Yet."
The president WS. J. Deer took
charge for the business period and
Mrs. A. Nesbit read' the minutes
of the' previous meeting. The roll
call was answered by "Your fav-
orite verse in the Bible."
The study chapter was given by
Mrs. Davies. Plans 'for the 'Bible
School lunches were completed.
The hostess and Mrs. John Daer
served a delicious lunch.
Mrs. Fordyce Clark will be in
charge of the next meeting.
