'Twas worth your hardehil + to be a backwood's

With your axes on your=houldero, the forest all

A kinder or a blyther et could not on oath be
found ;
And for your viands y u could have tho . tridgo

And every brook rare fish supplied the baeliwi'ood's

Green hemloolm boughs ,nr couch supplied, rough

Tho fireplace gam light a heat through winter
nights so lung ;
Though wolves in frenzy how cd, you heard them
without fear,
Fef courage was the watchw.rd of th' b:aelnroods

The forest paled before yo

And what if strangers i

They got tho greatest kb dness from the backwoods
pioneer.
The woodland scones w. a changed to Holds all
