Dusan, Manhasset, Long Island,
N.Y., and Mrs. Can-unit. Roberson.,

to spend a few days at' "Birch-
cliff."

Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Sturgeon
and Gerald Sturgeon, Preston,
were here over the weekend. Mrs.
Stuart Sturgeon's parents, -Mr.
and Mrs. Bernard Davis, who are
returning to England shortly, also
spent a few days with Mr. and
Mrs. Ed. Sturgeon.

Jessie A. Bell

Private funeral services were
held for Miss Jessie A. Bell,, 74,
from the Bonthron funeral home,
Hensel', on Tuesday, July 3. Rev.
N. D. McLeod, St. AndreW's Uni-
ted Church, Kippers, officiated.
Interment was in Exeter Ceme-
tery.
The late Miss Bell was found
dead Sunday evening behind the
barn at her residence on the in-
tersection of Highways 4 and 64,
by her nephew Jim IVIcEwan, and
Russell Moore, The men had fail-
ed to get any response from Miss
Bell at her home and so started
to search for 'her. It is presumed
that she had been dead since Fri-
day. Miss Bell lived alone.
An autopsy performed by Dr.
Penninstan, Stratford, pathologist,
stated that cause of death was
cerebral henthorrage. Miss Bell
was born on the Bell homestead
on Highway 4, south of Hensall,
on the outskirts of the Village, a
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
James Bell. She had lived there
most of her life with the exeeption
of a few years spent in Montreal
and Toronto, She was a member
of the United Church, a liberal
giver, and alWays contributed gen-
erously to any worthy cause. Sur-
viving are one brother, Dr.' James
W. Bell, Hensall; two sisters, Mrs.
Hugh MoEwan, Sr„ Hensall; Mrs.
Margaret Doan, Morrin, Alta,
Bayfield Beef Club
Meets At Clinton
The Bayfield 4-H Beef Club met
at the home of Ernest Brown,
Clinton, on June' 25. A class of
Polled Hereford heifers was jud-
ged by all Members.
A quiz was answered and after
the' purchasing of train tickets to
Niagara Pas, lunch was enjoyed.

Townsend spent Saturday in Gor-
rie 'attending the reunion there,
Mr. Miller started to school in
that area and as it is 80 years
since he went to that school he
met only one man who had gone
to school with him.
The Shobbrook family, reunion
was held in the Seaforth, Lions
Park on Sunday with a good at-
tendariee.
Bert Allen is a patient in the
Victoria Hospital, London. His
many friends, hope .to see him
home soon.
Obituaries
W. D. Harrison
Funeral service for William
David Harrison; 74, who died at
the Huron County Home, on Sat-
urday, was conducted at the Stiles
funeral home, Goderich, on Mon-
day, with Rev. R. G. MacMillan
officiating.
Mr. Harrison was born in Gode-
rich, Township, son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Harrison. His
wife, the former Eva De Long,
died in 1954. He farmed in Gode-
rich Township until 1911, when he
went tq Assiniboine, Sask. He
returned to Seaforth in 1926, and
lived there for 12 years before'
coming to Goderich to live.
He was a member of Knox
Presbyterian. Church and the
Men's Club of that church, and a
member of LOL, Seaforth.
Surviving are six sisters, Mrs.
George '.(Annie) Proctor, Gode-
rich; Mrs. Minnie Smith, Mitchell;
Mrs. William (Della) Scotchnaer,
Egmondville; Mrs. Jack (Flossie)
Williamson, Vancouver; Mrs. Ern-
est (Irene) Townshend, and Mrs.
Lorne (Ellie) Thurlow, , both of
Godeeich; two brothers, James,
Exeter, and Albert, Seaforth.

broidered illusion veil and she car-
ried. a white Bible crested will]
red roses.

Hensall, . and Miss Mar-
garet Willard, London, wore iden-
tical gowns of powder blue crys-
talette with matching hats and
carried nosegays of white snow-
drops and stephanotis. Charles

wearing a dress of powder blue
French cotton lace With white ac-
cessories and corsage of pink ear-
nations, The groom's mother chose
a blue linen dress with white ac-

For travelling the bride wore
a -beige ensemble with silver ac-
cents, ivory and cocoa brown ac-
cessories and, corsage of yellow
roses. They will reside in Exeter.
