"It, isn't always the pupil that

Mr. Jefferson said he very much
appreciated the calibre of teachers
that the various' edhool boards had
provided him with, In his nearly
three decades as principal he never
had any serious problems.
The retiring principal said he
was happy to .have served in the

he came to Clinton is still' living.
Alex Cudmore was on the school

Pupils and Staff
The more than 400 pupils of the
Public School proved they could
keep a seerel, well, and yesterday
afternoon their beloved principal
was truly taken by surprise when
the young folk took the opportun-
ity to present him with gifts.
A special occasion had been
planned for the presentation of
trophies won by the school athletes
at a field day last fall, and of this
Mr. Jefferson was well aware.
These presentations to: Grand
Champions, Susan Cann, Roger
Cummings; seniors, SuSan Cann
and Michael Steiner; intermediates,
Mary Jean Cob:pi:home and Roger
Cummings and juniorseJohn Coop-

by members of the sports com-
