brother Ed Webb who is ill.
WI Meeting,
The Londesboro Women's Insti-
tute met' in the Community hall
on Jupe 7, with the president Mrs.
Stanley Lyon presiding. The sec-
retary`'- treasurer Mrs, Arthur'
Clark read the minutes of the
last meeting and the correspond-
ence.
As there was no business to
take care of the new girls in' the
Homemakers Club were called
forward and presented wjth their
4-H Club pins and crest. Mrs.
Milton 'TJittle was presented . with
a Leader's pin. The other girls
were then called forward' and all
were presented 'with a teaspoon.
The new girls are Marjorie Hunk-
ing, -Bonnie Thomason and Lorine
Roe. Other were Beth, Marjorie
and Noreen MeEefing and Joanne
Medigpal.
Mrs. Bert Shobbrook, district
director, gave her report on the
district annual. held in Blyth on
June 6. Mrs. Arthur Clark gave
her report on the officers' confer-
ence held at' Guelph. Mrs. Wat-
son Reid was appointed assistant
secretary.
- The -July meeting will be held
at the hell in the forM of a picnic.

Send - $10 To CARE
The Clinton Junior . Institute
met in CDCI on Tuesday evening,
and roll' Peal, was answered by
stating "where I would like to go
oh the Junior Farmer weiner
roast."
It was decided to give $10 to
CARE to help those in need over-
seas, 'Some girls were nominated
to sing in the choir for the annual
Huron Count' r jatirelor Farmer
church service which is to be held
in St. Andrew's Presbyterian
Church-, Wingham, on Sunday,
July 22,

adjourned and the giels met with
the boys for the joint meeting.

ian Club held in the home: of Mrs.
Nelsen Reid, Varna. During the
opening routine, .Mrs. J. Aiding-
ton read from Psalms.
Roll .call was answered by 35
members arid five visitors. Thank
you car& were received from Mrs.
Jenkins and Mrs. F, Layton, and
Byron .Preventorium thanked - the
group - for pyjamas sent,
Mrs. E. Welsh reported on the
spring banquet held.' in London,
and decision was: made to- hold the
picnic at Beyfield on June 27.
Members are to bring lunch, plat-
es, cups and silverware. kre.- W.
Coleleugh was appointed to look
after transportation; Mrs. H. Man-
aghan to convene games and Mrs.
Welsh to convene lunch,
Mrs. J. Smith and Mrs. J. But-
er took charge. of the program,
beginning with a lively singsong

Mrs. Managhan, Mrs. Middleton
and Mrs. Wilitse were winners in
a contest.
The program continued with
a reading by Mrs. "Wiltse, "My
Fishing Pal and Me"; comic skit
by Mrs. J, Smith and Mrs. J.
Glazier; another contest won by.
Mrs. Welsh; 'a reading by-Mre. G.
Glazier, "Definition of a Boy;"
spelling match ending in a draw,
Mrs. Fairservice, Loridesbore,
offered her home for the S6ptem-
ber meeting, During 'July and
August meetings are cancelled, so
that members- may attend other
picnics,

was served by the committee.

Preparatory service will be held
in the United Church on' Friday
evening at 8,30 p.m. On Sunday,
the sacrament of the Lord's Sup-
per will be observed.
