,Evangelist Cedric Sears, known
as "The Walking Bible" because of
his copious use of the Scriptures
in his sermons, Will speak at the•
South Huron Crusade, Zurich,
from June 17 to* July 1,
The Wheaton, Illinois, inter-
national evangelist of .Youth for
Christ has memorized large por-
tions. of the Bible including whole
books, and often spends as much
as one-third of the time iii e ser-
mon in quoting Scripture, 4
CEDRIC SEARS
"The message and person of the
Lord Testis Christ as -revealed in
the Bible is' the . answer to the
chaotic conditions of our day,"
Sears explains. "It is the Only
answer on an individual, national
and international basis. What I
say •is not too important, but
what God says ie.-ell-important."
The dynamic Sears served as a
pastor • for 12 years bbfore going
into evangelism full time. He dir-
ected Chicagoland Youth for
Christ for several years and con-
ducted a preaching ministry
through Europe and Great Britain,
His Bible-teaching evangelism
has had unusual response as he
has spoken in every major city of
Canada other than the Maritimes
and every key city in the United
States. Two state senators, two
mayors, and a police chief are
among the hundreds. -who have
been converted to Christ in his
crusades.
He has spoken in the well .
known People's Church hi! Toron-
to, Park Street Church in Boston,
-Masse the Church of the Open
Door in Los Angeles, and Moody
Church in. Chicago.
In -his heavy schedule of travel-
ling, Sears has, sensed the definite
trend toward spiritual things. He
said recently, "There is -a very
pronounced spiritual increase in
our clay,' Whether it is more of a
step _toward morality th.an one
toweed spirituality remains to be
seen. Evangelism is having a def-
inite pant of it. I have been told;
by more than one police chief that
-the type of work we in Youth for.
Christ are doing, is an answer t6
the juvenile delinquency problems
of our day."
Trained at Northeastern Unie
versity, Moody Bible Institute,
Wheaton College and North Cent-
ral College, Sears has been asset-
lated 'in evangelism with Robert
A. Cook; Billy Graham and Torrey
Johnson, founders of the Youth for
Christ , movement.
