GROW
Big Strong
LAYERS!
The "real" egg money is 'made by hitting the top-price
top-premium Summer and Pall markets with plenty, of
big eggs. And to give you early, heavy, steady, long-
continued production of big eggs you need big, strong,
solidly grown', fully developed birds.
Birds like that don't just happen.
They have to be grown that way.
And it pays to do it. In one
Purina Research test, pullets
grown the Purina way averaged
over 1 lb. per bird heavier than
their sisters grown on a poor
ration, and laid 21 more eggs
per bird in their first few mon-
ths of laying. I..
Purina` growing plans are all
aimed at rapid normal growth
and balanced body and sexual
development. Which one to
choose depends largely on your
supply of home-grown grain.
Talk over your situation with
your Purina dealer , he'll tell
you what fits.
Many growing ;flocks piek up
intestinal parasites on •range--and
• these do their most serious darn-
age to growing birds. Move feed-
ers and -waterers once a, week—
shelters at least ono, r, month--
provide' clean green range. And
at 10 to 12 weeks give the birds
a treatment with Purina, Chek-it-
Ton Grannies or Poultry Wormer.
(It may pay to repeat just Were
housing).

The Huron County Chest X-ray
clinic operated smoothly in Bay-

that time the operators passed

where they were X-rayed.

Miss Janet Manson, 81, a former
resident of Goderich and Bayfield,
'died on May 24, in St. Mary's
Hospital where she had been a
patient since June 22, 1954.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., she
was a daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. -William Manson, who
came to Canada and Goderich
about• 75 years ago.
She was a Deaconess in the
Presbyterian Church, having ser-
ved in Northern Ontario. Follow-
ing her retirement, she came to
reside in Bayfield some 20 odd
years ago.
Here she took an active part in
Knox Presbyterian Church and was
president of the Women's Mission-
ary Society for a number of years.
She also. served on the Bayfield
Public Library Board.
For several years prior to her
departure for London in the aut-
umn of 1953, she had spent the
winters in either Godericla or
London, That winter she met
with a serious accident when an
automobile knocked her down in
a storm one night at a crossing.
She never recovered' from the
severe injuries which she received.
Friends from Bayfield attended
the funeral which was held froth
the Lodge Funeral Horne, Goder-
ieh, on Saturday afternoon, by the
Rev. R. G. McMillan of Knox Pres-

James A. Cameron was clink
chairman for Bayfield. 'When he
arrived at the Town Hall and saw
so many persons waiting at 6,30,
he opened up and handled the
cards himself until his assistants
arrived at 6.45 as arranged. The
technicians also commenced work
at this time.
A. M. Knight facilitated opera-
tions', having sent hydro, workers
over to install a special box from
one of the hydro poles' near the
Town Hall. "This made a. quick
hook-up possible. (For the last
mass chest X-ray,' the machine
was operated by a dynamo),
H: C. Lawson, Clinton, chairman
of the district consisting of the
town of Clinton, village of Blyth
and Townships of Stanley and
Goderich, visited the—scene.- He
was quite pleased with the com-
petent manner in which this ser-
vice operated here.
Clinic chairman, James A. Cam-
eron felt that if seeding hadn't
been so late, and the farmers free
to leave the land, that possibly
200 more persons would have at-
tended here.
(This correspondent was ex,
tended every courtesy and help by
those in, charge and their assis-
tants, thus' ,enabling her to take
advantage of this chest survey).
Following the clinic, Mr.' and
Mrs. James A. Cameron invited
the operators and helpers to "The
Open Gate," their charming home
on 'the Blue Water Highway for
a cup of coffee.
