reached a ten-year law in, 1954,
while imports' of bicycles reached
an all-time high. Production
dropped to 71,530 from 101,460 in
1953, while imports rose to 91,382
from 63,124,

at the Kinsmen Club supper meet-
ing on May 24, for the coming
Ontario Bean Festival. Thursday,
June 14, will be ladies' night, and
the husbands will entertain their
wives at the Knotty Pine Inn,
London.
Oulde and Brownie •
The Guides and Brownies of the
village. are to be commended for
their church- service last Sunday
afternoon at St. Paul's Anglican
Church. It is regretable that so
few availed themSelves of the op-
portunity to support the girls.
Miss Gwen Spencer welcoined
the parents and friends and intro-
duced the speaker, Rev. Norman
Knox, who •gave a very interest-
ing talk on the characteristics of
hands, linking his subject with the
hands of our Saviour, which show-
ed scars of sacrifice. Elaine Keys
led in the responsive psalm and
Miss Jane Horton read the Scsip-
ture.
Guide and Brownie hymns were
well sung.. Nancy Kyle and Patsy
Schwalm took up the offering
which will 'be forwarded to the
World Friendship Fund for Guid-
es. •
Masons Service
• 140 Masons representing South
Huron Masonic District *ended
Divine Service in a body at the
United Church on May 27, and
were addressed by the Rev. C. D.
Daniel, District Chaplain of South
Huron, assisted by Rev. H. T.
West, District Chaplain of North
Huron. Rev. Daniel chose for his
sermon topic, "The Temple."
• The choir sang an anthem and a
male trio composed of S. G. Ren-
nie, Nelson. McClincheye and H. W.
Horton sang. Frank Wright, Dis-
trict Deputy Grand Master for
South Huron directed proceedings.

ton Public Hospital, on Monday
morning of this week.
The Legion Ladies' Auxiliary

ture passage, and Mary Ann and
Dianne Rannie sang a duet. Flow-
ers were in memory of the late
Mrs. Cecil VanHorne, S. G. Ran-
nie is' choir director,. and Miss
Greta Lammie, organist.
