To Organize Town:
League Softball;
Meeting Tonight.
Xf the hopes of a few enthusiasts
of softball materialize, •Clinton will
have a town league softball group
this summer for the first time in
eight years.
meeting is planned for tonight,
Thursday, in the Legion Hall at
eight o'clock, at which it is hoped
the foundation may be laid for a
four-team loop,
Some ground work has been
made and it seems certain that the
proposed league can count on
teams representing the Fish and
Game Club, Legion, and the HEPC.
The big hope is that another team
can be formed to give the leaglie
more balance, One suggestion was
that a team be formed to carry
the Main Street banner. Those
who are trying to organize the
league will welcome all teams.
To add interest to the game, the
WOAA have formed an Industrial
series in which all-star teams from
town leagues may compete. It is
believed that W„Mcardine and one
other northern town have already
signified their intention of enter-
ing this series-maybe .a team from
Clinton could be arranged.
Remember if you would like to
see softball played as it used to be
a few years ago-be at the Legion
Hall tonight and get behind a
worthwhile idea.
