The Woman's Missionary Soc-
iety of St. Andrew's4Thited Church
held an evening meeting on Tbilra-•
day of last week at the home of
Mrs, Robert Greer, Blue Water.
Highway, The president, Mrs,
Jack Scotchmer being absent, the
meeting was in charge ef, Mrs.
Harvey 'Winer, first vice-presi-
dent,'
The study book chapter was giv-
en by Mrs. Westlake, assisted by.
Mrs, Dunn; Mre, J. Campbell, Mrs,
Robert Scotehrner and Miss J.
Stirling, The readings gave a pic-
ture of the work of the United
Church with the Indians in Can-
ada, who according to statistics
are "no vanishing race." This is
owing to the church and govern-
ment agencies giving help in medi-
-cal and hogpital care and educat-
ion.
Mrs, Smith. and Mrs. Hohner,
delegates ;to Huron. Presbyterial.,
which met recently in Exeter gave
concise. and inforative reports of
the meetings.
Rev. P. Renner spoke of the Ev-
angelistic Crusade; with meetings
to be held. in Zurich in June and
suggested small groups meeting for
Prayer.
Trinity Club -
The theme Of the meeting on
May 1 of the Trinity- Club was
"Mothers and Flowers". The mem-
bers had the pleasmie of having
one of their honorary' presidents;
Mrs. R. H. F. Gairdner with them
and regretted that the other hen-
erary president, Mrs. W. S. Outer-
bridge was out of town at the time
of the meeting. The ladies met at
the home of Mrs. LeRoy, Poth.
The president, Mrs. Ross Middle-
ton, presided over the meeting. It
was opened with a call to worship
and the hymn, "When Mothers of
Salem".
Mrs. Maynard Corrie read the
Scripture which was follOwed with.

paying tribute to "Mother", Mrs.
William. E. Parker presented Mrs.
Gairdner with a corsage with the
best wishes of the club. '
Mrs. J. B, Higgins then favoured
the meeting -with a vocal solo,
"Mother, My Dear", which was
very much enjoyed by everyone,
Following the secretary and
treasurer's reports, ten members
answered the roll call with pink
or white, as a tribute to mother.
Mrs. R. Moyer, a former member,
and a friend were present.
There was a motion to transfer
$29 from the Badminton account
to the general account; and anoth-
er-motion to purchase an extension
table top (spacer board) to fit the
adult nesting tables that are on
order,
Following the business, the pro-
gram convener, Mrs. Roy Fitz-
simons conducted two contests.
One was a "floral love story" and
the other a baby picture contest
far which prizes were given.
Lunch Was served by Mrs, Poth,
and the co-hostesses, Mrs, Alf,
Scotchmer and Mrs. R. Fitzsimons,
The special feature was a pink and
silver Mother's Day cake, centred
with a bouquet of spring flowers

end. Ronald Path who 'came
home on Friday, after having fin-
ished examinations at LIWO, ac-

as far as Sarnia, on Sunday. Ron
has taken a past with, the Imperial
Oil Company for the vacation.
Trinity Church Guild met at the
home of Mrs. E. A. Featherstone
on Tuesday evening,, with ten
members present. Mrs. P. Weston
conducted the opening exercises
and presided over the business ses-
sion. Plans were made for the
summer bazaar. During the even-
ing members cut patches for an-
other quilt. Mrs. George Adams'
closed the meeting with prayer.

Jackie Weston, second daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weston,
underwent an operation for Skin
grafting to her right foot in Pin-
ton public Hospital on Tuesday,
This was necessitated by a deep
burn which she sustained three
weeks age when she stepped into
the remains of a bonfire.
Jackie was walking 'along beside
her bicycle on the roadside, near
the Cities Service Station, talking
to a ponmanion. She was so en-
grossed that She did not notice a
pile of leaves which covered hot
ashes, -The ashes *got into her
shoe, causing such pain that she.
grabbed. her foot and held it tight-
ly instead of getting the shoe off
immediately,
Despite her sore foot Jackie in-
sisted on /taking part in the music-
al festival on Monday,

In the obituary of George Grain-
ger, published last week, it was
stated that "When a small child he
was adopted by the late' Mr, and
Mrs. George Grainger." 'This was
incorrect. The sentence should
have read, "When a small child he
was adopted by the late Mr,-"and
Mrs.-Alexander Grainger."

May 1, with 31 attending. Mrs.
James Thomson and Mrs. Graham
had charge of the devotional exer-
cises. Mrs,. Thomson read Psalm
8, and Mrs. Graham spoke on the
topic, •:'Wander, Recovery and
Adoration", and lead in prayer.
