Host To Unit Of
Teachers' Group
On April 24, members et the
Clinton Unit of the F,W,T,A,C), as-
sembled in the attractive new Bay-
field Public School. There they
were welcomed by the principal,
Mrs. LeRoy Path and her assistant,
Mrs, Vina Parker,
Following a tour of the school,
Miss Luella Johnston opened the
business meeting with prayer. Min-
utes of the previous meeting and
financial report were presented by
Miss Olive Johnson,
It was decided to send three
members of the Unit to. the Reg-
lanai Assembly to be held in
Strathroy on May 5,
The president read an article
dealing with the proposed licensing
of teachers according to a merit
system. Discussion of this follow-
ed.
Miss Edna Jamieson then gave
an interesting account of a day
spent at the 0:E.A. during /the
Easter vacation.
A striking committee consisting
of Miss E. Jamieson, Mrs. B. Tay-
lor and Mrs, J. D. Thorndike was
appointed to prepare a-slate of of-
ficer for the coming year,
A travel hour followed when Mr.
and Mrs. Path showed their collec-
tion of beautiful colored pictures
taken on a journey from Hayfield
to Florida. The audience sat spell-
bound as Mrs. Pah gave the com-
mentary on the' many ,unusual
beauty spots visited. The evening
closed with a social hone'.

Held In London
Mrs. L. McKinnon, *Mrs. Fred
Hudie, Mrs, Clifford Epps, Mrs, A.
Kirby, Mrs. C. Van Demme and
Mrs. M. Durham, attended the 69th
annual meeting of the Woman's
Auxiliary of the Anglican Church
of Canada, on Tuesday.
Over 750 attended the service
held in St. Paul's Cathedral, Lon-
don. The Rt. Rev. G. N. Luxton,
Bishop of Huron, brought greet-
ings, not only from the diocese, but
from new friends, namely the wo-
men of the Orthodox Christian
Church of the old world.
-Mrs. Charles Dengler, Jackson,
Mich„ was the guest speaker and
gave a most inspiring and challen-
ging talk on "Why are you here
and why have you organized the
woman-power of the church?"

Witnesses Will
Meet At aterloo
Twenty-six delegates from the
Clinton Congregation of Jehovah's
Witnesses will meet with delegates
from Goderich Mitchell, Stratford,
Elmira, Galt, Kitchener, at the
semi-annual three-day Circuit As-
sembly, April 27, 28, 29, at Water-
loo.
The highlight of the Assembly
will be the public address• on Sun-
day afternoon, "Consulting God
on World Affairs," 'by N. H, Nat-
han, special representative of the.
Watchtower Bible and Tract Soc-
iety, Toronto.

Kippen East Women's Institute
met at SS 10, Tuekersmith, on
April 18 and entertained Crediton.
Women's Institute, President, Mrs.
Campbell Eyre extended the wel-
come to over 100 members and
guests.. Hostesses. were Mrs. Eyre
and Mrs. Glenn Slavin.
Guest speaker, Mrs, F. Alliston,
Russeldale, introduced by Mrs.
Stirling Graham, Cromarty, ad-
dressed the group, choosing for her
subject "Mental Health". Mrs. Al-
listen, whose talk wes very infor-
mative was a former occupational
therapist, Members• responded with
the roll call "Little things that
make home happy." History of
blue china was presented by Mrs.
Norman McLeod; a poem, "Blue
Willow in Rhyme", Mrs, Harry
Caldwell. Current events were re•
viewed by Mrs, A. Finlayson,
The Thrifty Kippenettes, with
an enrollment of 24 members under
the leadership of Mrs. W. J. F.
Bell and Mrs. William
presented a demonstration using
the project "What Shall We Wear"
in which different groups demon-
srated how to .make tape measure-
ments, pin-chasing pattern and
material required, using of printed
matter, pinning it on to material,
how to pin on a pattern, putting
on marking of darts with tracing
paper, staystitching, dresses for
different occasions and concluded
with a club exhibit, "Color Scheme
for a Wardrobe" with Pat Lovell
commenting.
During the business session
plans were made for a bake sale
to be held in Hensel], on Saturday.
The group will sponsor a booth at
the annual Bean Festival in Hen.

latter's sister, Mr. and Mrs, John
McConnell. The occasion was
their 40th Wedding anniversary.

an's• Missionary Society of Ontario
Street United Church was held in
the church parlour with the pres-
ident, Mrs, W. S. R, Holmes in the
chair and Miss E. Wilts° at the
piano.
Roll call was answered by "A
Missionary Thought." Devotions
were led by Mrs, M. Wiltse, assis-
ted by Mrs. N, Carter, on the
theme "Our High Calling"—"the
mission of the church" using Scrip-
ture passages from Luke 4: 16-23
and Luke 10.
A Christian stewardship paper
was given by Miss S. Courtice.
The last chapter of the Study
Book, "No Vanishing Race," was'
ably taken by Miss. E. Wiltse on
"Indian Education." Mrs. Holmes
announced the May meeting and
Miss Courtice closed with prayer.

Given in marriage by her father,
the bride was lovely in a floor-
length gown of white marquisette
over white satin with lace panel
insets in the skirt, long pointed
sleeves and net yoke. Ner three-
quarter length embroidered veil
was caught to a headdress of seed
pearls and sequins and she carried
a bouquet •of red roses.
Mrs. Eugene Dale, Seaforth,
sister-in-law of the bride was her
bridesmaid, dressed in yellow satin
and net, with ruffled net skirt,
yellow satin bodice and matching
satin shrug jacket. She wore a
yellow flower headdress and car-
ried a bouquet of blue carnations.
Matron of honour eves Miss
Hazel Flynn, Clinton, sister of the
groom, who wore blue net and lace
over satin with matching lace
jacket. Her bouquet was of yellow
carnations.
Little Miss Linda Flynn, Clin-
ton, cousin of the groom, was the
flowergirl, dressed in floor length
pink net and taffeta, with full ruf-
fled skirt and matching poke bon-
net. She carried a nosegay of
pink carnations and white 'mums.
Groomsman was' Vernon Dale,
Owen Sound, brother of the bride,
and ushers were Eugene Dale, bro-
ther of the bride and Hugh Flynn,
brother of the groom.
Music was by the organist, Mrs.
Vincent Lane, St. Columban, as-
sisted by the children's choir.
At a reception in the Commercial
Hotel, Clinton, the bride's mother
received in navy and pink printed
crystalette with pink accessories
and a corsage of pink carnations.
Guests attended from Owen Sound,
Seaforth, Wingham, Gaderich and
Clinton.
Following a wedding trip to
,points south, the couple will reside
on the groom's farm in Hullett
Township.
